Mrs. Pomegranate's Picture
Mrs. Pomegranate, Sacramento Age and Occupation: 27, Technical Specialist Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Software Engineer Engagement Date: August 23, 2007 Wedding Date: October, 2008 Blogging Since: June 5, 2008 Venue: R.H. Phillips Winery About Me: Hi, I'm Miss Pomegranate and I'm a shopaholic. I have a weak spot for the chic cheap - especially anything I can re-create on the DIY. Shoes are my vice, music is my passion in life and technology is the medium by which I live and work. When I'm not scoping out a sale, I'm spending my quality time training for a marathon, playing Wii with my fiance and snuggling with my Silver Labrador and Teacup Panther - and oh yeah, planning my wedding!
About Mrs. Pomegranate

Okay peeps, let’s have a little fun with this multiple choice test! I’ve done lots of research on the topic of ring holders to keep my engagement ring safe and sound, and I have finally purchased my favorite. Let’s see if you regular readers can guess which one I picked…

Choose Your Own Ring Holder Adventure : wedding rings sacramento Birdie.jpg

Lalique Antique Glass Bird Ring Holder
$299 at Atlanta Antique Gallery

A. The Pricey Pigeon
Okay, so it’s probably a much more dignified bird than a pigeon, but it’s a bird nonetheless and pretty pricey you must admit. I’m pretty positive my slight obsession with aviary related decor is hereditary, as my mom has the same affliction. I love the functionality of this piece: lift the frosted crystal bird off its perch and place your beloved rings in its nest.

Choose Your Own Ring Holder Adventure : wedding rings sacramento 31ntwzuRubbermaid 1G18M6FRST Evolution Ring Holder in Frost
$7.49 @ Amazon.com

B. The Functional Yet Slightly Fugly
You might be able to kid yourself into thinking that this is a fancy sculpture made of rubber - but honestly, its tub stopper shape should be a comfort. This is definitely the safest of the bunch, as its snap top secures your ring in its grasp while its conical shape makes sure a trip down the drain isn’t on the itinerary. Ladies, you can now wash your dishes with ease.

Choose Your Own Ring Holder Adventure : wedding rings sacramento Shabby.jpg

Olivia Riegel Hand Enameled Ring Holder Decorated with Swarovski Crystals
On sale for $115 (originally $145) at The Addison Collection

C. The Shabby Chic
I don’t normally like anything similar to the painted floral heart-shaped porcelain ring holders which are found aplenty. Apparently, you can pierce one with several strings of freshwater pearls and crystals, then call it shabby chic and I’m not only in that boat, I’m rowing it to shore.

Choose Your Own Ring Holder Adventure : wedding rings sacramento PineappHinged Enamel and Crystal Pineapple Box
$18.95 @ Remarkable Treasure on eBay

D. The Edible Eclectic
Have I told you all the story of the pineapple? Not yet? Well, that dear readers is a story to be told. This delicious fruit plays a special role in the story of “us” and well, let’s just say I’m having a difficult time finding cute pineapple servers for our cake cutting ceremony. Perhaps a sparkly miniature version to encase my engagement ring instead? Hello Miss Pineapple - we love you and your extended family - you are mighty tasty!

Choose Your Own Ring Holder Adventure : wedding rings sacramento Twig.jpg

Tree Ring Holder
$7.95 @ cb2.com

E. The Mid-Century Modern
Swathe anything in white lacquer, make it wall-mountable and you can call it mid-century modern. While I’m not really looking for a re-worked shiny white version of a jackalope head for my mantle, I’m pretty positive this branch ring holder would look amazing atop my dresser.

Choose Your Own Ring Holder Adventure : wedding rings sacramento 41unzewWaterford Ballet Ribbon Tarnish-Resistant Silver-plated Ring Holder & Jewelry Box Set
$75.00 @ Amazon.com

F. The Matchy-Matchy
IF, and I say IF, I had joined the Vera Wang Waterford Ballet Ribbon China fan club (I’ll admit I considered it for a moment), this would have been a good choice. After all, this would just add to my collection and make for a much more cohesive inheritance for my future daughters to fight over. I mean really, Waterford and Vera Wang? That’s just too much good taste for one ring holder.

Choose Your Own Ring Holder Adventure : wedding rings sacramento Gin 36 Ginger Kubic Ring Holder
On sale for $75.40 (originall $116) @ the inside store

G. The Simple Unisex Sculpture
I love that this ring holder can be shared - it’s masculine enough that you might just convince your new hubby to take care of his wedding band. Also, it’s relaxed position creates a great combination of accessibility and ease of use.

I can totally see this working a la medicine cabinet or counter top.

Which ring holder do you think I picked?

Great post! Though they are beautiful, it’s nice to see some ring holders other than Paloma’s Nest :)

OMG I love the pineapple I have a basic ring holder but that is beautiful. I don’t think I would put that in my bathroom where I keep my current one so like you said no rings down the drain.

What a great set of alternative ring holders! Personally, I picked up a vintage Dansk giraffe for about $10 on eBay and slip the rings over his little head at night. Here’s what he looks like (his name is Phil):

I got a cute little peacock ring holder at Anthropologie for $10, and it’s such a delight to “tuck in” my ring at night! :P

I think that Rubbermaid one might need to come live beside my sink, though, so I can stash my ring safely when I do the dishes.

I had a pineapple to top my cake, and I loved it. Let me find a picture… better yet, a site to purchase it from if anyone here ever desires to.

It’s a Rucinni, like I think the one up there is… but I like the sparkles better than the plainer version. If that’s the one you chose, I mean no offense, of course!

@Mrs. Plumeria: I LOVE that Nambe one Plumeria! It’s gorgeous - that’s an awesome gift!

@Mrs. Tulip: I didn’t even know of this Dansk character and I love him already. Was that meant to be a ring holder? Either way I love it - so cute!

@twelvetigers: Ohhh that’s pretty - if we needed a cake topper, that would be fabulous! It’s got a lot of green to it too - so it’d match! Do you have pictures of your cake? I’d love to see it!
