Children of the Candy Corn

Children of the Candy Corn : wedding philadelphia Candy C

As you all know, I am a fan of candy corn. The photo above is proof that I have been a dedicated candy corn lovah since I was a wee little thing (and also proof that I sported super stylish sweatshirts). Despite the fact that our wedding colors are blue and brown, I’d still like to work candy corn into the wedding somehow. Only a few people will understand the connection and most everyone else will be like, “What’s with that random candy corn stuff?” But I want to have a mini–shout out to my hive–peeps! So this is where you guys come into play. Can anyone think of any rockin’ ideas for how I can incorporate candy corn into the reception somehow? I found really cute floating candy corn candles that I would love to put in the bathrooms, but the museum doesn’t allow candles, since fire + ancient mummies = bad idea.

If I was bite-sized, I would TOTALLY wear this to after party shenanigans.

And now I will share my token of appreciation for your help:

If Betty White would let me, I would buy her a crocheted outfit and make her parade down the aisle with me.

So hive, how should I show my candy corn spirit?

Sorry I’m not going back to look at your old posts for reference… but a couple ideas:

1. Incorporate them somehow into the rehearsal dinner activities - center pieces or what not?

2. Fill little bags with a quote about ’sweet love’ to set at each place as a favor.

3. What do your centerpieces look like? They could be used instead of rocks to fill around a vase or something. I know the colors don’t match but if you get the chocolate ones it might match better. And a touch of color might be fun :)

4. Are you inviting kids? Making an activity box for them? Maybe you add the candy corns to their box/goodies. Then it’s part of your wedding - but not ‘in your face’ :)

I would pay to see Betty White walk down the aisle in the candy corn outfit (that baby doll, btw, is super creepy - what’s with the tongue?). How about some candy corn on your dessert bar (if you’re having one)? Or candy corn on your bar bar (I love bar nibbles)? Or just send me some candy corn. STAT.

First of all, I would like to say that you were SO favoring cute as a child!

Secondly, like Miss Hot Cocoa, I would pay to see Betty White walk down the aisle in that ‘fit.

How about swapping rice, petals or confetti tossing and use candy corn instead? Hrm…would that hurt?

@Miss Pomegranate: I would pay to see someone throw candy corn at Miss CC’s wedding.

Isn’t there candy corn with in brown/orange/white…instead of yellow/orange/white. This would at least incorporate one of your wedding colors.

So I googled “candy corn” and come to find out apparently Jones’ soda company makes candy corn flavored soda for Halloween. Maybe you’d be able to score a few cases to have people sample during cocktail hour? A new and interesting twist on the yummy sugary goodness that is candy corn.

ohhh… or what about just candy corn scented candles? But then of course you would have to have some to eat for all the cravings that will be sure to ensue.

I don’t know what your favors are, but maybe you could have little votive glasses/some other candle glass filled with candy corn and tied with a ribbon as your favors? They could double as seating/escort cards too!

I had the same idea as Miss Hot Cocoa, instead of “bar nuts”, how about some “bar corn”?

I like the candy corn instead of bar nuts idea… I also tried to find you some Candy Corn Confetti (instead of throwing the actually candy), but so far no dice :( I’ll keep you posted.

If you are a total glutton for self-punishment by way of stress and extra work load… you could try making some in your wedding colors.

Then maybe just fill small bowls amongst the center of your tables or put them at the bar for the cocktail hour. You may be able to find a local candy shop or baker who can do them for a special request.

Because I should be working… but I don’t want to.

Maybe you could incorporate these pastels a little easier than the orange. But, why don’t they make blue?!? Every other pastel color but blue. What gives?

Your wedding is in October - which means however you use them will somewhat fit with the Halloween holiday. I vote putting them on a candy buffet, but my runner up vote goes to the bar nuts idea. I like the little pumpkins the best!

@Miss Cherry Pie: I’m with you. And maybe the flowergirls could be corn girls instead, and throw candy corn down the aisle.

Sorry I’m not much help :)

Oh my God girl, I’m glad we got those teeth filed down. Naw, you are really cute. I don’t have any brilliant ideas about the candy corn, but the bar corn sounds pretty good.

oopps, I used a different name than on the BeeTV posts the other night. Don’t want to confuse anyone and have them think you have two Moms. You could never handle two Moms like me.

A sweet Candy Corn tattoo is my humble suggestion, and by humble I mean bold.
