About Mrs. Strawberry

When you’re a bride, you get a certain vision in your heard as to what the big day is going to look like. I was going for shabby chic–all things light and vintage looking. I was a little disappointed in the bright pink flowers on my bouquet and the weird looking birds on our wedding cake. But it didn’t ruin the day and no one else was the wiser. Linda’s story is a little different. She wanted her wedding cake to look like this:

Instead she got this:
drunk_plaid

Was the baker drunk? Perhaps. Read the whole story here. Plus, you have to check out this blog for other cake disasters.

Cakewrecks is my favorite blog in the reader! No wonder she sued!

thenewmrsw says:

Oh my gosh. That’s terrible! Kudos to her for still having it on display at her reception. I probably would’ve chucked the thing (at the baker) and asked that someone pick up a sheet cake or some cupcakes from a nearby bakery!

You know, my FI and I keep saying that we don’t really care what the cake looks like as long as it’s delicious. But even I would draw the line here! Yikes! And if you follow the link, it turns out the bride had to sue the baker to get her money back. You’d think that if the baker had any pride in his/her work, he/she would have given every penny back immediately.

Cake Wrecks is the best! Check out the fireman cake or the “Happy Teen Pregnancy” cake. I was dying of laughter!

Cindy says:

Well, I’d say the bride and the baker were a bit off in ideas there…

Oh man, that website is HILARIOUS.

did the cake melt? or just give up on living? lol.

Katharine says:

Ditto thenewmrsw! I would have sent someone - ANYone - to go get a supermarket cake or something! Unless she didn’t see it till they walked into the reception? Oooouch.

Ms Popcorn says:

oh my… I’d have refused it on delivery and sent someone to the nearest bakery to just buy a few standard non-wedding cakes from whatever they had in the display rather than suffer that wreck! poor Linda!
