Cancel My Makeover!

July 26th, 2008 @ 3:00 pm by Mrs. Tulip

Thanks to Smashing Magazine’s recent list of 70 Beauty-Retouching Photoshop Tutorials, I never have to look attractive in person again. Apparently, appearance is all in the Photoshop, baby!!

Sure, we know what Photoshop routinely does for celebrities:

(The lovely — and lovelier — Naomi Watts.)

But it can do so much for the rest of us as well. For example, why lose weight when you can magically melt away spare tires and cellulite?

Or, perhaps you’d like shinier hair?

How about longer fingernails?

Other possibilities include nose jobs, thicker eyelashes, a new hair color, bigger boobs, whiter teeth … and, of course, the all-around touch-up:

I may never visit the beauty salon again! But you’ll never know it, my cyber-friends…. A little study time with these tutorials, and I’ll be looking HOT.

it’s amazing how photoshopped almost EVERY SINGLE picture in almost EVERY SINGLE magazine is. after checking out some of the before and after pictures you can find on the internet, i felt a lot better about my skin, hair and body. those celebrities who look perfect? they’re actually pretty normal. :)

photoshop works wonders for sure!

I totally touch up most of my photographs. I don’t like the way I look in pictures without makeup so I go and fix a few things like dark undereye circles, shiny face or blemishes, whiten teeth and I’ve even added in makeup when I wasn’t wearing any. It’s amazing what software is capable of nowadays.

I’m not going to deny that I’ve touched up photos a little, smoothed out shiny skin or covered spots, but I honestly think Naomi Watts looks much better in the first photo. And those false nails look gross!
