My weekend began with a very exciting envelope that I received in the mail:

MOH writes, “Please come to this super cool party!”
Since this will be a lingerie shower, MOH asked me to create a text document that had my sizes on it so that she could copy and print inserts for all of the invites. She also asked me to harness my newly acquired Illustrator skills and create a map so that guests could find the shower location. I might have gone a little overboard on the final insert I handed her - but I assured her, it was created in only a few hours and was so much fun to make!
My Shopping Info insert on the left and MOH’s super cute Shower Invite on the right - love the little bow!
The Shopping Info insert was directly inspired by an amazing Bridal Shower invitation I found online at Crave Design. After only a few minutes of searching in online stock image sites, I found their lingerie model - so it was really too easy to recreate the look (for personal use only - I would never sell or profit from an imitated design). The map shown below was easy to create as well - I used a portion of the one I created for our wedding invitations and just re-colored it with the pale blue (not an exact match to MOH’s invite - but she wanted it to be a surprise so I guessed).

All icons were re-colored from iStockphoto - except for the airplane and star, which are standard stamps in Illustrator. The font is Bewitched, named after the famous TV show.
After swooning over the Bridal Invitations, we headed off to Santa Cruz for our Wharf to Wharf weekend. A very important stop had to be made on the way to our super-sweet vacation rental: Paper Source on Santana Row! This was my first visit to the store in person - having done my previous shopping online - and I needed to pick up some ribbon for our invitations that I managed to miss in my last online order.
Once we finished up at Paper Source, we continued on to Santa Cruz and settled in for the night. I ate some supremely tasty baked garlic spread on toasts, Caesar salads and cioppino at Ristorante Italiano. Soooo good! The following day I headed up to Mrs. Penguin’s home to meet up with a few of the Norcal and Bay Area bees including, Mrs. Penguin, Mrs. Cherry Blossom, Mrs. Lemon, Miss Cream Puff, Mrs. Daffodil, and Mrs. Eggplant - did I forget anyone?! We broadcasted the Shin-dig, so if you missed it, check the archives.
Miss Cream Puff, Mrs. Daffodil, Mrs. Eggplant, Me, Mrs. Pengy, Mrs. Cherry Blossom and Mrs. Lemon.
After driving back from Mrs. Pengy’s, I took it easy for the evening, walking along the Boardwalk and having a nice carb-fest dinner of mexican food at Acapulco. After heading to bed early, it seemed the morning came sooner than ever! I woke up, scrambled to get packed and ready for the race. I managed to get out the door without eating any breakfast - I guess adrenaline kept me going.
Me, Crafty Bridesmaid and Jami before the race.

Mr. Pom caught our super-cheesy “We Did It” high five after the race.
Let’s just say all three of us ladies kicked major butt! I finished at 1 hour 5 minutes and 37 seconds, Jami finished at 1 hour 11 minutes and Crafty Bridesmaid finished at 1 hour 30 minutes. We were all elated to do so well and had a major blast running along the Santa Cruz hills listening to bands and getting emotionally overwhelmed by the crowds that had arrived simply to offer moral support. It was incredible and I cannot wait for my marathon to come!
Did y’all have a fabulous weekend as well?
