I Heart Saipua

July 29th, 2008 @ 8:27 am by Mrs. Peacock

In my search for soft, loose arrangements, I found Saipua flowers. There is so much wonderful inspiration in their blog and a few laughs thrown in. I love, love, love Saipua’s style. The flowers are so loose, garden-like and natural.

Our placecard table was gathering dust on the back burner until I saw this image:

We will be using both moss and ferns in my arrangements, so this was like a light bulb for me. It’s like, “Oops, I just stumbled into a wedding as I was walking through the forest.” Anyway, if you are looking for a little break from the typical wedding stuff, I would definitely recommend spending some time on her blog.

What’s your favorite place on the web for flower inspiration?

One of my favorite sources for inspiration just so happens to be our florist’s website (Lucky coincidence, huh? ;) )

Oh, and my husband and I are on the first page of bouquets. We’re the kissing couple in the middle of the page.

I’m in love with her stuff and her blog, too - it’s one of the first ones I found! I was thinking of DIYing my flowers (woke up from that pretty fast) and was going to have some “lessons” with Sarah of Saipua when I was spending a month in Brooklyn, but unfortunately we couldn’t work out the timing. She is as wonderful a person as her gorgeous work would indicate, though. So glad you posted about her!

For other readers, their shop also sells awesome handmade soaps, and they’re located in the great Red Hook area of Brooklyn… right across the street from Baked (and a block away from the gigantic Fairway). Yum.

OMG I think I’m going to steal that escort card display, I have 40 (!?!) days to go and that is one project I keep I hadn’t settled on an idea for yet , but I think it will fit perfectly with my “forresty, natural, whimisical” aesthetic I’m hoping to get ! THANKS for posting !!

I’m so doing that! Moss is like my secret obsession. Luckily my lawn is full of it! I’m taking a square right from home. I’ll replace it after the wedding. But what to put it in… any ideas for a water tight tray?

Where did you find the boxes your moss is in for the escort cards? I’m searching for something just like this.

That last photo is from Saipua, but in my version, my dad created the boxes for me. You could probably use old cabinet or dresser drawers if you don’t have any crafty relatives!
