About Mrs. Daffodil

If there is one thing I totally underestimated (not just in the wedding planning process, but in life in general!), it is the power of video. Now, I am all about photography and always have been… I am an avid scrapbooker and also hold the title of unofficial historian among all my friends smiley3. And there is nothing more beautiful than a perfect moment captured on film (or memory card, rather smiley4). But you’d be amazed at how quickly we can forget. Lately, perhaps due to the fact that the wedding brought together so many old and new friends, I’ve been reminiscing more… and I’ve found that video has the amazing power of bringing me back to a certain time in a uniquely different way than photography does.

Anyway, for your workday viewing pleasure smiley3, I thought I’d share the “Getting Ready” video that one of our buddies put together for us. I can’t describe the giddyness and “awwwww, I miss everyone so much!” feeling that clinched my throat as I started watching it. So much fun and love. smiley1 Enjoy!

Music by one of me and Mr. D’s favorite bands, Caedmon’s Call.  Thanks to our buddy, Lawrence Chen, for your amazing work!

Aww, thanks for sharing! I like the way she did your eyes. Did you use falselashes?

That is such a great video! Most of the time I think videos come out looking like you are auditioning for your first hollywood role (trying too hard) or like Uncle Bob’s home video with inspiration of Blair Witch.
But I am loving this one! Its not a movie, its captured moments of laughing and talking and you being you. Mad props to your buddy.

@Elaine: yep, i did use fake lashes! they were a lot of fun! ;)

@MM: i was trying to talk him into doing wedding videography professionally, but he’s actually not looking to do that and only did it for us as a favor! i thought he did an amazing job though!! we were so happy with it!

Wow, I’m not usually affected much by others videos, but this was just an unscripted capture of emotion. I loved it! This is just how I want my wedding videography done, thank you so much for the inspiration!

Oohh, nice! Were they the individual ones or strip ones? I’m looking to use them for my big day as well!

Great video! Question kind of off topic…I live in the bay area and am trying to become a non-profit consultant, I’d love to talk to you about how you got where you are? Not sure how to contact you other than comments. Congrats, and thanks! :-)

Oh, Miss (ahem. Mrs.) Daffodil! I laughed, I cried, I smiled so hard I thought my face would crack in two. I’m a sucker for romance and your wedding day was absolutely full of it. Congratulations on your new life and thank you so much for sharing it with all of us!

(p.s. When the two of you started crying during your vow exchanges, i just lost it. I cried and bawled like a baby. I truly hope all of your days are filled with so much happiness!)

I was starting to feel nervous after watching all of these “professional” videos begin featured because I am just going to have my Uncle film the day, but this video helped me realize that it’s really just about capturing the emotion! I kind of wanted to cry watching this as well.
