OMG. I am so completely thrilled. As odd as it might seem to have engagement pictures taken a week before the wedding, I am so glad we did it. When we hired our new photographer (a month ago), she really wanted us to take some engagement pictures. She said it would loosen us up and help us get comfortable with her, so that on the day of our wedding we’d be sort of “used” to someone snapping tons of pictures of us. She was SO right. After our session with Kim on Friday, we were even MORE sure that we’d made the right decision to “fire” our old photographer and get a new one. Kim of Jennifer Kloss Photography is amazing. We felt totally, 100% comfortable with her, and she’s really, really talented.
She and Jen really wanted us to have some pictures before the wedding, for two reasons: first, they wanted us to have them to display at the wedding, and second, they wanted us to see more of Kim’s work. And in just three days, Jen emailed us the teasers. Holy. Crap. That’s all I have to say. Holy crap. It’s the best decision we’ve made yet.

I seriously could not be more thrilled right now. I am ten kinds of thrilled. I cannot wait to see our wedding pictures!

Love love love these photos! They are fun, quirky, cute . . . just like you and Y. Plus I love Chinatown backdrops — great homage to the Chinese part of your wedding and a fab way of getting vibrant, colorful pictures.

Toooooooooo awesome. Your personalities just explode out of the pictures (as they do out of every pic you’ve posted of you guys, so it’s 99% you!), and the angles and textures are amazing. I’m so happy that it turned out this wonderfully - and how great to have such a fantastic shoot right before the wedding, to put you in just the right frame of mind!!!
Great photos! I never realized how helpful taking engagement shots are to building rapport with your photographer. We were super comfortable with ours on our wedding day since we’d gotten used to being photographed already. Can’t wait to see your wedding photos!!!

Wow wow wow! I am definitely loving the 8th one down, of the two of you walking. I’m so glad you are feeling at peace about the photography situation. Now you won’t have to stress about what kind of a “job” your photog is doing and you can sit back and enjoy the day knowing you are going to get amazing pictures out of it!
