An Excuse To Buy A Pretty Dress!

July 31st, 2008 @ 2:40 pm by Mrs. Daffodil

The rehearsal day is, after all, the first time you will see your entire wedding party together… and more importantly, the last time you will see your fiance before you guys take the plunge! What a great excuse to buy a pretty little dress! I wanted something cute, light, yet would convey “bridal”. These were the candidates in the running…

Satin Bridal Dress from White House Black Market ($158)

Panama Strapless Dress also from White House Black Market ($148)

Strapless Appliqué Dress by BCBG, available at Nordstrom ($398)

It is pure loveliness that both Nordstrom and White House Black Market have great exchange/return policies, so I was able to try these on… so important, because they looked way different on me than they did on the models! I ended up choosing…

…the Panama Strapless from White House Black Market!

(This is definitely NOT the greatest picture of me, but it’s the only one I have in which you can really see the dress.)

Of the dresses, this one was the lightest and most fun (not to mention the most slimming and affordable smiley304). After putting it on, I definitely felt like I was practically bridal… truly like the prelude to being a full-on bride, if you will. And of course, Mr. D loved it! Here we are, happy to see each other after our bachelor/bachelorette parties, not yet quite believing that all of this is really happening!

Hmmm, I’m thinking of going with something un-bridal — like a bright, poppy sort of color!

I’m in the midst of looking for a cute white party dress for my rehearsal. That one looks so perfect on you! I actually am contemplating the bcbg dress but there is no store that holds it in my area..what are your thoughts on it? Just curious :)

@psu01: @Heidz: i loved that dress too! but given how much i ended up liking this one plus the price difference, i had to go with the WH/BM one :P that was the only reason!
