About Mrs. Espresso

Busy Bee Brides

August 1st, 2008 @ 4:50 pm by Mrs. Espresso

Planning a wedding is hectic enough, but add in work, school, health issues, house hunting, financial issues, and job hunting—and you have yourself one busy and time consuming schedule. In fact, since we’ve been engaged I’ve juggled all of those off and on. And I know most of you have juggled hectic schedules and projects like these as well! Thankfully right now I’m only dealing with a few of the above, but two of them have really been taking up my time lately: 1) job hunting and 2) house hunting. I’m so happy to report that as of last Friday, I’ve crossed #1 off my list! Although now I’ll have work to take the place of the job hunt. But I’m going to have a paycheck finally! So now I’m left with house hunting.

If we were just looking for a place for Mr. Espresso and I, the search would have been over a long time ago. But we’re also looking for a place that will accept the third member of our family: our baby Maverick.

You see, Mav is the type of dog who likes to lounge on porch swings…

And sleep in bushes

So finding a place in Orange County that: 1) accepts dogs of Maverick’s size, 2) we can afford, and 3) has a small backyard for him, has been a bit of a challenge. But we will press on—I know it’s out there… somewhere.

What’s been your main “big project” while planning your wedding?

Oh my, I can totally relate to this post! I was taking 2 MBA evening classes, working full time, and house-hunting / moving all during our wedding planning process!

It was extremely stressful at times, but I managed to get through it, and it really helped that I have amazing friends and family to keep things in perspective. It’s kind of hard to spend hours stressing over seating arrangments when you have a Financial Analysis exam coming up!

:) Becky
p.s. Such cute pics!

Oh. my. goodness. I love the pic of maverick passed out in the bushes! hahaha. So cute!!

We had a really hard time finding a place to live in Vancouver that welcomed our chocolate lab. It all worked out in the end, but the stress of finding a place was not fun!

And just because everyone likes looking at dog pictures, here’s our huxley:

Good luck with your search :)

AW. Maverick is adorable. Sterling has odd dog habits as well - he hangs on on top of our patio table. I think he likes it because it allows him to see directly into the living room windows.

OMG! How adorable is the picture of him sleeping in the bush! Isn’t it strange the places dogs think are comfortable? My dog will sleep with half of her body hanging off her bed. Sometimes she manages to get under the bed (a medium sized lab-chow) and then she gets stuck and can’t get out!

Haha. Maverick is adorable! My dog, Reilly, likes to sleep in bushes, too. Makes me smile.

I can relate to your situation too! We have moved three times (and in two cities), I graduated college, changed jobs twice, and will again in another 3 weeks (yeah for new jobs!!). I think the past year has been the busiest of my life!

I totally feel for you. I went through the same type of search. . . we have a 83 lb. German Shepherd mix (Max), a Catahoula puppy (Simba) and two cats (Montana & BooBoo). Usually as soon as I mentioned Max’s size, it was “sorry, no dogs over 25 lbs.”

Maverick is a cutie! How could anyone turn him away?

I will be working full-time, going to grad school full-time and planning a wedding in this coming year. I was going to sign up for a triathlon, but then I decided it would be a bit to much!

Your dog is so cute and hilarious! I can sympathize… I have a HUGE orange mix breed dog myself, and it’s IMPOSSIBLE finding housing. I really wish people were more understanding about renting to people w/ big dogs. A good resource is http://www.peoplewithpets.com (for larger cities/areas).
