I Had a Shower Yesterday

August 4th, 2008 @ 1:09 pm by Mrs. Espresso

And not the bathing type either :) … but I did take one of those too.

Yesterday I had my first (of two) bridal showers. And it was AWESOME! My bridesmaids definitely made it as personal as possible and took to heart my love for travel… which they made the theme.

They scattered vintage suitcases everywhere and hung maps on every wall. My MOH’s father also went out the morning before the shower and bought tons of flowers to decorate the house with- so pretty!

Here’s the dining room setup before everyone got there.

Around each vase of flowers, my MOH taped pictures of my family, me, and my travels.

Continuing with the theme: National Geographics, an Atlas, and more pictures.

The Blue Tin held all the different recipes my friends and family brought.

And now for the SWWWEEEEEET CAKE! I didn’t even know it was a cake until they told me. My bridesmaid’s sister made it and all of the luggage stickers are places that Mr. Espresso and I have traveled to together. I like the little bride on top too.

And Look at the Back!

Mr Espresso and I are going to Canada for our honeymoon so it’s perfect!

And a close- up on the edible luggage tags.

Yum!

Here’s me with lovely Mother Espresso and Sister Espresso.

And me with my beautiful FMIL and FSIL

Now on to the gifts, and they were all so great! We received Spa Gift Certificates for the two of us, baking pans, a cupcake transporter, all of the towels we registered for, dozens of water goblets and glasses, personal stationery from etsy, and so much more! I also liked how they put wedding movies on behind me- this way I didn’t feel like all eyes were on me the whole time :)

Here I am with all of my incredible bridesmaids who helped make this day happen

And after everyone went home, I had some fun with the bride on top of the cake ;)

@daydreamer33: the bridesmaid on the right is actually my MOH and she’s 6ft tall. And I’m a whopping 5′3″ so we laugh when we walk past doors or windows and see our reflection. It’s like on TWINS with Arnold Swartsaneggar (however you spell it) and Danny DeVito :)
@Miss Pomegranate: and @sandra: my family’s going to blush when they see your comments
@Miss Trifle: yeah I don’t know what the technical term for it is, but I love it ;)
