Wish You Were Here Table #s

August 4th, 2008 @ 10:30 am by Mrs. Spider

My cousin has a huge-ass Doberman named Cody. He’s super friendly and once licked my eyeball in an attempt to body hug me. Homeboy thinks he’s a two-pound chihuahua. My cousin and her husband love him to death but could not find a way for him to participate in their wedding festivities without potential bodily and monetary consequences. So I suggested using photos of him for their table numbers and they loved the idea.

It was a pretty simple project of turning the photos black and white, and adding white thought bubbles with numbers on them. I tried to keep each picture tightly cropped around Cody so that they were somewhat consistent, and formatted the pictures to fit the size of the frames the venue provided for the table numbers.

I’m not sure why some of them looked washed out below but here is Cody in all his glory!

So cute! We used photos of Ohio State football players (their jerseys were the table numbers) and the people from Ohio (about half the guests) just LOVED the idea.

I really like the different angles that you got on the pics - adorable!

I love this idea. I wanted to do the same thing but just ran out of steam before the wedding. I should have asked someone else to do it for me. :)

Great job!

We did this for our wedding. Using our 2 year old puppy. She is certainly not a highly trained model but the pics turned out very cute.
Since we got married in Vegas we used a white box with dots painted on it to make it look like a large dice. Then we used various props like hats, feather boa, and beads to take our showdog pics :)

I love this! A great idea to bring the beloved pet to the wedding but not actually bring him!

@Mrs. Lovebird: LOL, for some reason, the venue doesn’t use those two numbers for their tables! @LMAZ: awesome idea! Sounds adorable.

Was the theme carried out through the escort cards/place cards? My FI want to do this with our hound, Cooper, but have a hard time deciding whether to add a design to the escort cards or not…

We were thinking of doing something just like this. What did you use for the thought bubbles? and turning them black and white?
Thanks!

We are doing something similar with our 3-year old Sheltie. Bode will be wearing party hats with the table numbers on them in each of the photos… Its a way to include our baby in the wedding without risking him freaking out and losing his manners!

Oh your cards (and Cody) are so cute! But I have to admit - the cropped ears make me cringe. My friend just brought home a cute lil Dobe puppy and he’s been wandering around with a styrofoam cup attached to his head that holds his newly cropped ears. He looked like a little shriner puppy with a fez on. So sad.

Spideypants did you take those pics? Were they all taken in one day? If so, Cody is one dynamic pup!
