Warm Hues and a Plethora of Candles!

August 6th, 2008 @ 11:25 am by Mrs. Champagne

Our color scheme is very simple, yet I think that it will portray exactly what we’d like our wedding to represent. I hate to be another damask bride, but I assure you that it was beyond my control—damask has an undeniable power over me. It’ll be subtle, but you can count on some damask details!

Our decor will be mainly composed of three colors: ivory, gold, and black. To add some warmth to the room, we’ll have a ton of pillar and votive candles on every table, bar, counter-top, and even in the restroom!

The more obvious damask details will only be on a few tables, where we’ll use table runners and simple flowers.

Sources: sparklers, bridesmaid dress, gold candles, winter wedding, flowers (I can’t remember source, please tell me if it’s yours!), our reception site!, dress, damask runners, gold lamour, martini ice luge, mantilla veil, candle centerpiece (again, can’t remember my source), champagne! (unknown source)

I just love the warmth of candlelight, and I’m so excited to see how the snow outside will change the feeling of the reception inside!

How will you enhance your reception site to fit your needs?

Unexpected snow (in St. Louis, it could very well be 75 in December) was the highlight of our wedding. I just love your photo montage and think that damask is beautiful!

I can’t wait to see how it all turns out! I’m getting married late this fall and am using the same colors and hints of damask too- didn’t want to go overboard. Maybe I’ll have some that you’ll want when the wedding is over! Have fun planning!

[...] You may recall Champ and I are going for an elegant and romantic wedding day. Our colors are gold and ivory with subtle touches of deep red hues. We’ll have a ton of candles, and the outdoor fire pit will be visible from our guests’ tables. Champ and I agreed that this dress seems like a timeless style and it fits both our ceremony and our venue locations. [...]
