Shoes are my vice, music is my passion in life and technology is the medium by which I live and work. When I'm not scoping out a sale, I'm spending my quality time training for a marathon, playing Wii with my fiance and snuggling with my Silver Labrador and Teacup Panther - and oh yeah, planning my wedding!

A Two-Shoe Bride Part IV

August 7th, 2008 @ 6:00 pm by Mrs. Pomegranate

Wow! You readers truly are amazing shoppers! I was amazed at all of the awesome shoes you found to replace my lost ceremony shoes. In fact, I’d love to share a few of my favorites, before I reveal the winning pair.

Reader Mary suggested these amazingly adorable Kate Spade It-Girl Heels on eBay (the auction has already finished) - the stiletto heel and the size were off, but MAN those are adorable - just check out those cute bows!

All of those options made it sooo hard to decide! Ultimately, the inner fashion addict in me called out when Flirty Bridesmaid sent me a link to these Missoni Signature Knit Platforms. I couldn’t resist. They are too cute and I can 100% justify the purchase of them full-well knowing I’d wear them again, many times over.

These Missoni Signature Knit Platforms have a touch of metallic silver that will tie-in the leather from my dress.
Originally $580, On Sale $149.99 @ eBay

I waited to post about these until I actually received them in the mail - just in case they were lost or something happened AGAIN! If so, I’d have to continue shopping. However, I’m very pleased to say that they arrived safe and sound at the Pomegranate residence just last week. The M’s are mine and they fit perfectly! Now I’m all shoe-ed out!

Did anyone else have to find a back-up for an important detail that you were sure was a shoe-in, but somehow fell short ?

I had to find a new reception venue a month and a half before the wedding, does that count?

I love all of those shoes!!! Especially the ones you picked! I had the hardest time finding shoes and then after I spent 3 months searching decided not to wear them the day-of anyways. LOL!!!

Oh, I definitely had to be flexible! It snowed 8 inches on our wedding day. One of the plans that fell through was a heated tent attachment to our reception venue. We had planned on having the bar there, but it was just to cold and wet.

back up? i’m still looking for the main shoe!

i bought some non descript gold ballet flats with the intention of buying an awesome sparkly broach to pin on them amp up the style and make them more formal….

well, the broach i ordered came in last nite….and while very beautiful, its too small to have the impact i wanted for the ballet flats. i tried it to see and the simple flats just look disjointed with such an ornate embellishment.

the broach does however look great on my silver clutch/wristlet, so it won’t go to waste. but as of last nite i am shoeless. not an option in my possession.

:(

Your shoe is perfect though! can’t wait to see it with your custom dress!

Those are all cute, and I’m glad you’ve found a new pair! For me, I have just found a new photographer a mere 2 1/2 weeks before the wedding… I’m not thrilled, but at least we have a photographer.

@Corey: That TOTALLY counts! I cannot even imagine that. Whew!

@Katherine: Oh 2.5 weeks!? That’s crazy! Good for you for toughing it out and making it happen!
