Lounge Seating

August 8th, 2008 @ 12:48 pm by Mrs. Pineapple

One of my favorite current wedding trends is lounge seating for the reception. It can be rather pricey, but the look is so modern and casual. You can rent lounge furniture and pillows that match your wedding. The rental company will then drop off, set up and break down the lounge.

Here are some of my favorite shots:

How cool would it be to use these Living Stones by Smarin Design?! I have no idea if there are any rental companies with these, but if you have the money, why not get them for your wedding and keep them for your home?
Are you having lounge seating at your wedding reception?

The living stones are quite possible the coolest thing ever. Too bad they don’t have prices listed…and that they are in France.

We have a built-in lounge at our rehearsal space - I’m so thrilled. Its moody, sexy, and moroccan!

The Hilton where my event is, said they could throw some really cool looking chairs they have in the lobby area in the ballroom for me, for free!

I’m a cynic so…we’ll see if it actually happens.

I’m having my wedding at my parents farm in 4 weeks. I LOVE the lounge area-but it is out of our budget. However, we are DIY-ing it! I’ve painted 3 long benches and made mismatchy pillows to sit on them, and I have 2-3 foot tree trunks that will serve as “coffee tables”. For even extra room I’m taking a few mismatched chairs and placing pillows on them also! I cannot possibly wait to see how it plays out. I’m situating them outside the tent-I hope the weather is gorgeous!!

I love the lounge seating too!! Luckily where we’re having our reception there is already a lounge area, which would work really well for our open bar and cigar bar too!! I can’t wait!
