The OOT Totes

August 8th, 2008 @ 3:52 pm by Mrs. Pinot Noir

Kate Parker Weddings has over 20 great city/theme specific Out of Town Welcome Baskets. While these baskets are certainly out of my price range, ranging from $25-45 each + shipping, they are a great place to draw inspiration! Each basket is filled with locally made products and information specific to your wedding weekend.I love the “Green” Welcome Basket:

It includes a Bag of Dried Apples 100% Organic from Bare Fruit Snacks, a Bag (4.8 oz.) Garnola 70% organic from Nutty Steph, 3 oz. container of Fair Trade Certified and 100% organic tea from New World Tea (the packaging made with low carbon emissions in mind), 1 (16 oz.) Nalgene Water Bottle, Custom map including 4-5 points of interest for the wedding weekend (rehearsal, ceremony, reception, etc.) Printed on 100% Recycled Paper, and Medicine Kit including Advil, Tylenol, and Pepto-Bismol all in a Burlap pouch. $42 + shipping

I also adore the San Francisco Welcome Basket:

It includes 6 cookies from San Francisco Cookies Company, 8 squares of assorted Ghiradelli Chocolate Squares, 8 oz. bag of San Francisco coffee from Caffe Roma, 2 (11 oz.) bottles of Fiji Water, Custom map including 4-5 points of interest for the wedding weekend (rehearsal, ceremony, reception, etc.), Walking and Driving Map of San Francisco, and Medicine Kit including Advil, Tylenol, and Pepto-Bismol. $43+shipping

Since we are having a destination wedding, over 90% of our guests will be coming from out of town so we felt it was necessary to welcome our guests with a few little treats. We will be creating our own unique OOT totes, taking inspiration from the welcome baskets above.

Do your welcome baskets have a theme? Where did you find inspiration?

Those are super cute - though I don’t know how there’s no “Los Angeles” or “Hollywood” kind :)

We’re going to include some snacky treats, DIY labeled water, a CD of California themed tunes, maybe a map to star’s homes, and aromatherapy goodness….

Our theme is Magic Carpet Ride, though, so I’ve been trying to think of something relevant for that :)

This is great, thanks for the link! I’ve been looking for ideas for my OOT bags.
We still haven’t finalized what to include but since ours will be a beach side wedding, we’re definitely thinking of including:
chapstick/lip balm
aloe vera (to soothe that tanned skin!)
disposable underwater camera
money/id holder: http://www.avon.com/1/1/4087-money-id-holder.html
i would love to include water and towels but it will be crazy expensive to have that shipped to our wedding destination.

we’ve not gotten to filling the OOT bags yet, but are planning to provide water bottles and an assortment of home-baked treats along with a welcome note (not sure yet if this is a letter, card or postcard). love the idea of a CD!

Hey PN! Since our wedding is over Labor Day Weekend (um, obviously), we are doing a “Labor Day Picnic Basket.” I bought some very cheap baskets from lucky clover trading company that look like small picnic baskets. We are lining them with a red and white checked napkin. I’m putting Indiana popcorn in it, a local apple, a homemade chocolate race car, bottle of water, off towelettes, and a deck of cards and directions to play euchre (midwestern card game.) Probably doesn’t help with your napa valley theme… Would a bottle of wine be affordable for your welcome baskets? I bet you can get some pretty cheap openers online if needed…

@LaborDayBride: That sounds wonderful!! I love that you are including a midwestern card game! If only we could afford a cribbage board for everyone!

@Claudia: I bought flip flops from Old Navy to put in my OTT bags for my destination beach wedding.
