About Mrs. Espresso

This past week, I had the option of getting nothing done and blogging about how I was getting nothing done (probably would have been a bit repetitive and very boring), or not blogging and getting a lot done… so I chose the latter and now we have something to talk about (hopefully it’s still not boring :)).

As you may or may not remember, I ordered my invites from Wedding Paper Divas. Of course I drooled over letterpress for months, Contemplated Gocco, and then even started researching different homemade routes made of brown paper bags (thank goodness I didn’t dive into that mess!). But in the end, Wedding Paper Divas offered me the most affordable option for the time I wanted to put in.

After perusing through the different options multiple times, we chose the Dandelion style in Lime. We had always wanted green invitations and the addition of the dandelion gave the invite a whimsical and youthful touch. Plus I loved the look of the dandelion being blown across the RSVP and Thank- You cards.

Here they are stacked and out of the box:

Once we chose our style, we needed to decide on the wording. Easier said than done, my friends. As Miss Pinot Noir posted about a while back, the wording can get a bit tricky when including parents. My dad, mom, and step dad (who are all no longer married and dating other people) are all contributing, and so are we. So, like many before us, we went the, “Together with our families” route.

But for the rest of the invite, we also wanted something different than the norm… something that described us. Most of the options we came across requested the honor of your presence or invited you to share in the ceremony. We liked these but wanted something more lighthearted and simple. We ended up falling in love with the wording on an invite we found on goodonpaperdesign.com. So our invites begin:

Together with their families,
Miss Espresso and Mr. Espresso
invite you to come laugh, dance, dine, and celebrate our wedding!

For our RSVP Card, we also chose something slightly different. Instead of “Accepts with Pleasure” and “Declines with Regret,” our guests can either mark: “Can’t Wait!” or “Can’t Come!”

The total cost breakdown for our invites came down to this:

  • 100 Invitations & Envelopes: $164.00
  • 100 Response Cards & Envelopes: $105.00
  • 100 Thank- you Cards & Envelopes: $124.00
  • 5% Special (-$19.65)
  • Tax: $30.80
  • Shipping: Free
  • Total: $404. 15

Stay tuned for the “Put it Together” Process… it went much different than I thought it would. ;)

I really love that design! I will likely go with Wedding Paper Divas for some aspect of my suite, likely the Save the Dates. I love that they are reasonable, stylish and are always adding new designs!

Those look great, and I love hearing from a bride who is NOT doing a major DIY process. As one who is contemplating the DIY invites but also thinking realistically about my busy schedule, impatient tendencies, and so-so sense of craftiness, it’s great to see another option!
