Neck Wear

August 12th, 2008 @ 4:20 pm by Mrs. Pineapple

For the last few months I have been casually searching for a wedding day necklace. I would love to find something from Etsy. I have had nothing but amazing experiences from Etsy folks. I plan on wearing simple white pearl earrings (either a pair borrowed from my sister or a pair Mr. P bought me many moons ago).

I am definitely drawn to more vintagey looking necklaces. I love simple pearl necklaces with one big funky chunky accent. Here are some of my favorites:

{Etsy Seller Luxe Deluxe}

{Etsy Seller Lulucoco}

{Etsy Seller Damselle}

{Etsy Seller JC Jewelry Design}

{Etsy Seller Damselle}

My concern with the above necklaces is my hair. I will be wearing my hair down and I think the best features of the necklaces will just be hidden.

So, maybe something more symmetrical or simple is where I should head. I do love these, but I just don’t love them in quite the same way.

I would like to go with yellow or rose gold over white gold/silver to match my wedding ring.Do you have any suggestions (online sellers, specific necklaces)? Which is your favorite?

Can I suggest you consider wearing your hair up or half-up? ;-)

The first Damselle necklace is definitely my favorite!

Great Etsy choices! I outfitted all my bridesmaids in matching necklaces from portobello and I wore one from divinerose.

Those are two more great sellers to obsess over!

I love the Luxe Deluxe necklace if you were to wear your hair up.

I also really like the budding necklace from Etsy seller Precious Meshes and she can make it with goldfill instead of silver. I bought her anemone earrings to wear for my wedding and her craftsmanship is amazing.

I love the first & third options. With your hair up or down they would look beautiful on you!!

I had my wedding necklace custom made by a wonderful Etsy seller:

She was a dream to work with and I will probably go back to her for a custom brooch before the wedding.

You have a knack for picking out wonderful pieces! For my wedding I wore a simple necklace because the dress was pretty dramatic. Gotta have balance. :)

I love the asymmetrical look, especially because it doesn’t matter so much if it migrates a little. I was so glad that I chose necklaces with no actual center, as when we did portraits the bridesmaids and I were the only ones who weren’t repeatedly asked by the photographer to center our necklaces!!

Great post, I’ve been doing the same thing lately on etsy, but haven’t found my favorite yet. My favorite on your list is the Virginia Geiger necklace.

I LOVE the last one, as it’s very Jackie O–she was the queen of the three-strand pearl necklace, and this is an amazing interpretation of that. But only if it works for you–all of the others are lovely as well! I just think that you’re going with a vintage vibe with everything else in your wedding look–what better vintage inspiration than Jackie Kennedy Onassis? :-)

I love-love-love the second one…and I think it would be fine even with your hair down, because it just has a bit of assymetry with the flower while being classic pearls all the way around. I say go for what you love!

I LOVE luxe deluxe! I purchased my wedding party jewelry, my mother’s jewelry and my fmil’s jewelry from them, as well as a little silver button necklace that I wear pretty much everyday. They make BEAUTIFUL pieces and their service is top notch. I cannot recommend them enough! They will also customize pretty much any piece for you. The mom’s necklaces were listed in silver, but they both wanted gold, so luxe deluxed made them up for me and sent me pics to see if I liked them. LOVE THEM!

Thanks for bringing Virginia Geiger to my attention. I just bought Tea Party (a lovely aquamarine and apatite crystal necklace) from her. She was a joy to work with as she agreed to adjust the length of the necklace for me. I love her stuff!

Catching up on posts here! I don’t have any jewelry recommendations for you- sorry :(- but I did want to say that I looove those first few necklaces taht are asymmetrical. Goregeous! And I think that a really simple one, like the first, would still look utterly amazing even if you hair is going to be down.
