Oh Happy Day: First Look and Tea Ceremony #1
————————————————–
After Mr. Toucan picked me up and we served tea to my parents, we were off to the church!

In this picture, I really felt like a princess - look at how dutiful my BM cousin looks holding up the train of my dress!

Since we knew we were going to see each other before the ceremony and that our entire wedding party was at my parents’ house, we decided to all ride to the church together in this super long stretch!

It was really fun to all be able to ride together! Unfortunately, it was as much fun as it could have been, because we soon found out that we were riding in a limo with a broken AC on the hottest day of the year thus far! But that’s another story…We arrived to the church, slightly sweaty, but even the hot car ride couldn’t keep the smile off my face…

Getting help out of the car, and stepping on the red carpet!

I was so ready to just get married, but none of our guests arrived yet. I planned extra cushion time for the limo to get us to the church, so we arrived a little early. That extra time seemed to last forever! Mr. Toucan and I separated - he waited upstairs, while I waited downstairs…

So, I waited…

I think I look a little nervous in this picture. Or perhaps anxious?

And they waited…

Our two older flower girls chatting.

And she waited…

My little sister looks so grown up!
(She’s actually 17, but she’ll always be my kid sister)

Finally, our guests began to arrive…

And started filing into their seats…

Downstairs, there were just a few last minute fix-ups…

Our youngest flower girl lost her lovely head wreath, so her mother (my cousin, who actually made all of the flower halos) gently pinned it back to her head.

And we’re set! It’s SHOWTIME!

Next, the Toucans say “I do.”

Mrs. Toucan says:

@jj2980: They’re my favorite - fuschia peonies! :) I ordered them from Bridgewater Gardens, and my aunt put together all of our bouquets, corsages, boutonnières, and altar pieces. In my bouquet, she added hypericum berries, and banana leaves (I think?) and wrapped those and the peonies with one of the BM sashes that they decided not to wear.

So I know you posted this a few days ago, but I just have to say…I love.love.love your combo of blue dresses / pink shoes & flowers for the bridesmaids. And your bouquet / bouquet wrap! Gah! I’ve been looking everywhere for this type of color combination (bright blue and pink) and I couldn’t find very good examples of it anywhere. I knew that I had seen it somewhere before (and that it looked awesome)…little did I know, but it was right under my nose by a Bee! :) So, I guess this is a long-winded way of saying “Thank You!”
