Penguin Recap: Ready, Men?

August 14th, 2008 @ 12:52 pm by Mrs. Penguin

Over at the hotel, Mr. Penguin and his groomsmen treated themselves to the hair of the dog in a poor attempt to neutralize their Scotch overindulgence from the night before. What better way to forget a $85 Scotch than a $5 bottle of Cold Duck?

z160018

I don’t know who bought this for them and whether or not they were over the age of 21, because I can’t recall the last time I saw Andre in the hands of an adult. :)

Anyhoo, Mr. Penguin got ready in true Mr. Penguin style: Slowly, distractedly, and with some cold beers.

Shall we get ready? Nah, let’s sit around and chat.

z16001801

How ’bout now? Oh wait, there is some manner of sports being played somewhere in the world. Basketball? High school women’s softball? Unicycle Hockey? Who cares, let’s watch.

z16001802

Let’s get dressed. No, wait… more beer has arrived.

z16001803

Well, we’d better get going.

z16001804

Okay, it’s time! No, wait. We have to bet on stuff first.

z16001805

Cheers to Cold Duck!

z16001806

I love this series of pictures because this is actually Mr. Penguin’s normal “getting out the door” routine on a Saturday night!

The men headed off to the venue, where we caught our “first look”…

Does your FI/Husband take this long to get out the door?

Relive the day of the Penguins…

Mr. Michelle takes longer than I do to get ready. I’m sure he spent more time grooming (no pun intended) before the wedding than most females.

Mr. H takes FOREVER to get ready. It’s like pulling teeth sometimes to get him out the door. Your pics are awesome!

Hubby is SLOW to get out the door, and I totally giggled at your sports comment. I’ve seen him watching women’s college volleyball! If it has anything to do with Ohio State, he’ll watch it!

LOL how funny Mrs.Penguin. My fiance actually takes about 20 minutes (including showering) which i dont really understand how haha. I am actually guilty of taking VERY long. And not the same time that most girls do, because they are primping up. I take my time while checking e-mails, going on Myspace, IMing friends while trying to get dressed!

oh.my.goodness. the bf is excrutiatingly slow. so much so that i feel like i need to tell him we have to be somewhere 30 minutes earlier than we really need to be there just to pad in some time.

then again, i can be ready within 10 mins so i guess anything longer than that is ridiculously slow for me. lol.

i love how he kept stopping, i feel like that will be me on our wedding day. “oooh wait…let me check out these highlights first.” lol

My fiance drives me freaky crazy when its time to go somewhere. He is the slowest person on earth…UNLESS it’s something he really wants to do, then he drags me out the door.. haha:)

HAHA I just laughed out loud, that sports comment is my FI exactly–if its on ESPN he will watch it, and read about it on the espn website at the same time:)

how long it takes depends on if he showers or not. If he showers, he for some reason feels the need to air dry - towels are only used for around his waist… :P

My FH takes RIDICULOUSLY long to get out the door. He is a very, how shall I say, not-concerned-with-time kind of person. He will do 20 things between the bedroom and the shower…smoke a cigarette, check his email, beat a level in some video game, call his dad, play with the dog, fold some laundry. Drives me CRAZY. I constantly have to tell him we have to be somewhere 30 minutes EARLIER then we actually do, and even then we barely get there on time. *sigh* at least I’m not alone in this…

It takes MrDavis forever to leave b/c he has to run back in at least a couple times for things he forgot. It drives our poor dog crazy having him leave and come back so much.

Mr. Lovebird was playing pool basketball all day and apparently even won a tournament and had to get out of the pool when Mommy Lovebird scolded him to “go get ready” like an hour from when the wedding was supposed to start.

Mr. Cookie is pretty speedy during the weekdays, and gets all suited-up for work. There is something about a man in a suit. YUMMY!. Then, on the weekends it is the opposite story — boxer, white shirt and only shower if forced too!

I image Mr. Cookie getting ready on our wedding exactly like Mr. P — slow, relaxed with beer!

He does take longer showers than me, and I can’t figure out why. He also puts product in his hair and I don’t use any in mine. All things said, I think we do take about the same amount of time to get ready, as neither of us are terribly fussy.

I think I see Andre in the hands of adults sometimes, but usually it’s about to be mixed with orange juice!

i was laughing out loud that entire post.

unfortunately, my fiance is speedy, so he’s always waiting around impatiently for me.

heeheehee… I’ve been learning to unicycle for the past year, and regularly watch my clubmates play unicycle basketball, but I have yet to see unicycle hockey since they only play that on the nights I don’t go to club.
