Dancing works up an appetite, so after a couple hours, our wedding guests were ready for a sweet treat. Enter a delightful confection courtesy of For the Love of Sugar. Our red velvet wedding cake was charming and delicious — did I mention Mr. J and I already ate the top tier!?!

After a few hours of dancing, Mr. Jasmine couldn’t wear his shoes a minute longer. They were incredibly uncomfortable, so he decided to go barefoot.

That move ended up being very costly as my cousins stole his shoes! A beloved wedding game in Indian weddings, sisters and female cousins of the bride steal the groom’s shoes and negotiate a princely sum for their return. The game is usually played before the start of the ceremony, but we were pressed for time, so they snatched up them during the reception. Very tricky of them, as Mr. J was hardly expecting it! And they got a pretty penny in return. :)

Finally, the night was over and Mr. Jasmine and I retreated up to our lovely suite at the InterContinental. The wedding day was a blur of anticipation, excitement, love, joy, and celebration. There was so much to talk about and look back on. But it would have to wait for another day, as we were both exhausted. I was not, however, too exhausted to open the Tiffany box Mr. J presented to me at the beginning of the day. Inside, I found this beautiful necklace:

I wear it everyday, as a reminder of our beautiful wedding day and how blessed I am to have Mr. Jasmine. :)

Next: Mr. J and I minimoon in style—Las Vegas!
