Boston Bee Meet-Up Recap

August 20th, 2008 @ 2:49 pm by Mrs. Gingerbread

I had the good fortune of being in Boston for work last week and getting a chance to meet up with Mrs. Bubblegum, Mrs. Toucan, and some wonderful readers! We had a fun time getting acquainted over some drinks and Mexican food at Fajitas & ’Ritas. Too bad we remembered to take a photo after all the food was gone and after my face turned bright red from less than one beer (thanks Asian flush).

After dinner these lovely ladies volunteered to take me on a tour of Boston since I’d been sequestered inside all week and hadn’t seen the city at all. We went to Boston Common and ended up doing a wedding related tour through the Public Garden to see where reader/tour guide Joanne tied the knot just last month (check out her gorgeous wedding in her blog!)

I had a blast getting to meet some of the Boston bees and hope to include more Bee meet-ups in my future travels! :)

aw, Asian flush! hehe, I know your flush face well.

Millie says:

Asian flush is the devil! For some reason, everyone wants to take pictures after the first drink… and I end up looking like a swollen tomato!

@Miss Sweet Tea: Shh! That never happens. This was just a one time freak flush ;)

@Millie: This reminds me to be grateful that there are no photos from my wedding reception that look like this :)

@sassygirl: She sure did!

ooo asian flush strikes again!

A tip for any asian brides, my husband and I took a pepcid AC right after the ceremony but before the reception (ie drinking) began. I completely did not turn red all night and my husband only mildly turned red (less so than normal).

@lilneko69: Hey, that’s it! I’d completely forgotten that a friend of mine slipped me a Pepcid AC before dinner. I need to write a special note in her thank you card for saving me from Asian flush at my wedding!

Miss Martini says:

dont hate me, but i dont get asian flush =)

mr martini gets majoorrrrly red though, and he swears by pepcid AC. he also swears that when he takes pepcid it takes him longer to get drunk. the secret though is to wait 20 minutes before you drink anything alcoholic. if you drink sooner, it wont work. i seriously have friends that practically pace back and forth staring at the watch until the 20 min mark hits!
