Project Pomway: Boobilicious!

August 20th, 2008 @ 5:15 pm by Mrs. Pomegranate

A few fittings have occurred since our last episode, but with so much to do and so little time left - I thought I’d unveil a rather large transformation. We’ve moved away from the sample fabric of yore and on to yummy silk georgette and double-faced satin. Carole was able to get a better handle on the neckline and darts, but we were still struggling with a few minor details.

We went from this…

…to this!

The past two weeks have been focused on how to keep my ::ahem:: girls in line and lookin’ fine. It’s be a bit of a boobie debacle I tell ya! With the georgette being so sheer, we knew bra straps would be a no go. So I decided that a pair of the new “chicken cutlet” NuBras would probably be my savior.

These puppies did NOTHING for my 34Cs!

Oh boy - unless you like 360 degree cleavage, this is not for the larger ladies out there! Not only did it squish my boobies, but it dragged them down due to the weight of the gel. No good. I decided that while I had been trying to avoid the corset of doom, I may as well try out a seamless bustier or two.

This was my bustier of choice.

Well, it wasn’t low enough in the front, the sides or the back. While all of these can be adjusted, as it is a custom dress, the biggest concern with this type of undergarmet was the boning. It would totally show through the double faced satin. Even with a bit of lining, I’d have pokey wires running along my tummy. Instead of heading back to the bra drawing board, we decided to try one last thing: built-in padding.

Let me tell you something - Carole has some magical sew-in bra pads! Those puppies lifted, separated and gave me support through the minor boning she has already put into the cups. They are sooo boobilicious! I’m excited because it means I don’t have to have an awkward “un-sticking of the cutlets” moment at the end of the evening or be short of breath from the bustier!Stay tuned for another episode of Project Pomway coming soon to a hive near you!

Did any of you have difficulty picking out underwear for beneath your wedding dress?

Omg, I love this series so much. Regular Project Runway is amazing but Project Runway with wedding dresses is the best thing ever.

I can’t wait to see the rest of the dress! But I know it’s going to be gorgeous — as Heidi would say, “I’d wear that.”

Why hasn’t someone created a television show entirely devoted to the creation of wedding dresses yet? I’d buy it on DVD. I’d buy Project Pomway on DVD if I could.

oh yes……i’ve got some major boob action (well and beyond the “D” territory) going on. i really wish i could have cups put in my dress….

i put a bra on order with a lingerie boutique a few weeks ago and they just called me last nite to let me know it’s in!

i’m bringing my dress with me to work tomorrow to try it on with my dress….i am really hoping this is it!

now, i just need some underwear. that shouldnt be hard, right? full coverage blue panties? we’ll see…..

Well I’m in for a surprise…
My Maid of Honor told me she got me the whole outfit, all I need is cream/white tight high.
It’s her wedding present to me along with more French lingerie straight for home… I won’t know until late October and I pray that it works with my dress.

I really wanted a lace-up corset, b/c when trying on dresses, I found those to be the most flattering because the laces can be loosened or tightened to fit your shape. But sheesh it was hard to find one. I’ve ordered it, and we’ll see how/if it works w/ the dress, as I’m a bit worried about the lacing and/or boning showing through.
