DIY Table Numbers

August 21st, 2008 @ 3:45 pm by Mrs. Lovebird

It was all because of Weddingbee that I caught the DIY bug. I must give it up to my fellow bees as they have countlessly inspired and motivated me to add a personal touch to as many wedding projects as time and my abilities allowed.

After seeing so many amazing photo table numbers on Weddingbee, such as those of Mrs. Emerald, Mrs. Lovebug, and Mrs. Tiramisu to name a few, and since I had so many amazing pictures from Scott Robert’s workshop, I tried my hand at making my own table numbers.

Don’t you love how DIY projects evolve as you do them? I actually ended up not using the ribbon and paper flowers because I thought it distracted from the images.

First, I bought 3 packages of Ikea’s 5×7 Clip frames that came 4 to a pack. I felt that the 5×7s were a good size. I spent the most time stressing over what to use as the numbers and went to Paper Presentation and found some iron-on numbers that kinda worked. I also picked up a box of mini Glue Dots since I couldn’t iron the numbers onto the photos. Then, I printed the images I wanted in 5×7 at my local Walgreens. The amazing images I used were taken by Chris Chen, Becky Carpenter, and Lucid Eyes. Then it was just the matter of glueing the numbers to a good spot on the picture.

The finished products:

And most inspired DIY from Weddingbee? Mrs. Ant’s custom Album layout. They are stunning. I did a friend’s daughter’s 1st birthday album from photo’s of her 1 year of life. I used Mrs. Ant’s ideas to stem off from. Although I’m not as creative as her I think I did a good job.

We are naming our tables after the San Jose Sharks players. We took pictures of our cats with the pictures of the the players and then put info of the players on the back.
It is going to be great!

They look great! I still haven’t decided what to do for ours, but I’ll stash this wonderful idea into my inspirations!

mrs. lovebird - i am getting married on isla mujeres in jan- and was wondering if you had any problems with customs in cancun getting your wedding projects/oot bags and other wedding related goodies into mexico? i have heard horror stories about goodie bags being taken, etc. i too have lots of diy projects and would be devastated if they were taken away at the airport!!
