When I first discovered that our engagement photographer Sarah Maren would be unavailable to shoot our wedding, I was so incredibly disappointed. Not only is Sarah an incredible photographer, but she is a doll to work with. I knew I was going to be hard-pressed to find another photographer that would have the a similar off-beat style and still have the ability to get Mr. Pomegranate to come out of his shell while in front of a lens.

Then came Travis. I discovered Travis Hoehne’s photography blog ages ago when researching engagement photographers - but was 100% sold when I saw the amazing shoot he did for Miss Penguin. He has that amazing eye for light that I love so much. Here are some of my favorite engagement shots he’s taken:

We’ve booked him for our wedding and I cannot WAIT to see the amazingly creative photos! See, you must understand, I am officially a stalker of Travis’ blog. There is just so much exciting stuff on there I can’t help myself. It’s truly what gets me all pumped up when the burden of planning starts to wear heavily on my shoulders. I mean, how can you not swoon over this wedding yumminess?

I’m too excited! Travis will be coming up to the winery to shoot both our rehearsal and our wedding - so I feel very lucky that we get to have him for two days in a row! Until then, I wait eagerly for more wedding photos to be posted on his blog.
Does anyone else stalk their wedding photographer’s blog?
omg of course. i stalk it like no other! i’ve also started stalking a bunch of other wedding photography blogs too, either the photogs of other bees or just photogs that i’ve heard great things about!! i love love love looking at beautiful imagery, and there is just everything beautiful when it comes to weddings and all the emotions there! 
I saw him on Penguins blog and just loved his stuff. We also have just booked him, it isn’t just his photos on his site, his personality is great and I swear he could be a long lost family memember with his personality. He is someone my FI and I both said could feel like an old friend. I can’t wait until we get to actually work with him. Yes I have been looking at his blog, it is awesome and so are his questions and answers hahaha they crack me up.

From the looks of these pictures, you won’t be disappointed! Seems like the perfect photographer for a winery too - the “rustic” look in the last few pictures will be great.
i stalk my friend’s blog who happens to be a wedding photog. i keep telling him to be prepared to shoot my wedding. the way things are going, i’m going to be lucky if he is free!
great photography blogs like travis are such inspiration. i love my photographer’s too. i have a laundry list of photographer blogs on my “myyahoo”. makes me feel like i’m falling in love with these people that great photographers take of. beautiful!

I stalked stalking it before I actually booked her. So when we went to meet with her I commented that I had seen her blog. As she showed us her most recent work I was saying things like “oh! thats marks wedding!” or “I loved the ring shot in this wedding”. She just looked at me like WTF? And I said “I wasn’t kidding that I stalked your blog” and she just laughed and it was like we had been long time friends. And now she stalks my blog too!
Yes I’m a photo blog stalker… and he is definitely one of the many I stalk. Your photos are going to turn out fabulous!

I <3 Travis! He’s our photographer too. We booked him without meeting him and based on his awesome portfolio on his blog. We finally met him for our e-shoot and he’s so fabulous in person! He’s so great to work with!

Oh I’m so excited that you are using Travis, his logo is actually my engagement ring! I flew him out to do an all day engagement shoot in Boston and one of the places I had to take him to had an amazing old weather compass with the quote “grow old along with me, the best is yet to be” which is actually a quote that runs throughout other elements of our wedding! Also, the first picture with the lamp post is also of my fiance and I, the picture was taken on Acorn Street, one of the most photographed streets in the US!!
That is exactly the type of photography I am looking for! I live in Sacramento too. I’ll definitely research both the photographers you mentioned. Not sure if they’ll fit in my budget- but definitely a step in the right direction! Thanks!
