If you liked my rehearsal bouquet, you’re going to adore this wedding!
Megan Hunt and David Homan got married on May 31st, 2008 at the The Slowdown in Omaha, Nebraska. Like most couples getting married, they were blissfully in love. Also like many couples, these two were unaware that their wedding details would send one Miss Shortcake over the edge into a blissfully sweet, sugary coma of joy.

Oh bliss, oh sweet sweet rapture!
Megan, a.k.a “Princess Lasertron,” had, in my opinion, the funkiest and most fabulous wedding, ever.
Witness:
…the hand-drawn invitations

…the DIY shoe embellishments (bit o’ tulle anyone?)

…the stunning, hand-sewn felt-and button bouquets

…the custom 1950s-inspired wedding dress, complete with fuscia and black petticoats

…the matching flower girl

…the show-stopper of a ceremony and reception venue

It’s always so refreshing to see weddings that are true celebrations of the two people involved. With so much of the wedding industry churning out such similar stuff, it often takes quite a bit of courage to step outside of the (little blue) box. Princess Lasertron, a.k.a my new true love, can be admired not only because she DIY-ed the hark out of her wedding (and has the fabulous photos to prove it), but because she took that risk, and took that jump, and made her wedding completely and utterly hers. Oh, and David’s.
What weddings have inspired you?

Actually, I’m pretty sure that’s not the flower girl - the dressmaker’s daughter loved the dress so much, her mom made her one to match. I watched her planning progress on Livejournal, it was a neat wedding!
