About Mrs. Cherry Pie

Third Time’s The Charm

August 21st, 2008 @ 3:19 pm by Mrs. Cherry Pie

For those of you following the saga of my dress, you’ll remember that what was lost was found, and we questioned to V or not to V?

Well, all the drama has passed like clouds on a summer’s day. My dress is done, complete, finis! I went in for my third and final fitting (more of an approval than a fitting) on Monday and returned home with a car full of silky goodness…

**Read no farther, Mr. Cherry Pie!**

That’s my dress with its new V back and adjusted straps. Soooo comfortable and silky! The photos above are relatively close to what my gown will look on our wedding day, with two critical differences:

- It will be pressed to take out the extra-wrinkliness
- It will be buttoned, adding an extra half inch to an inch of “cinch” around my torso

As you can see, my boobies are much better supported. I’ve had cups sewn into the front and I am wearing my Natural Bra, bought for cheap off of Graveyard Mall. Here, it’s just sitting in the cups, not actually stuck to my bewbs with tape:

And there are the earrings made by a local jeweler to match my necklace!

What do you think of my new headpiece? It’s an ivory velvet flower with grassy centre and pheasant feathers:

I still have my veil, and I am planning to wear it during the ceremony, either with the flower underneath, or without the flower, which I will add when I remove the veil for the reception.

So, this is a rough draft of my final wedding look. I just have to clean up the dress, put on makeup, and have my hair done. HOLY CRAP, I’M READY TO BE A BRIDE!!!

What do you think?

You look gorgeous! This was actually one of my favorite dresses I tried on too, however, I thought the back was a little boring for my taste, but I LOVE that you spiced it up with the V.
Funny this is, I decided on Lavina by Maggie Sottero, which has a straight across back as well. I might just look into adding a little V myself.
Thanks for the inspiration!

So gorgeous, love how it turned out. The flower/feather combo is fab!!!! Not sure if it will work with the hairstyle you’re wearing on the day, but if you wear it more on the side it would look pretty sassy. ;-)

So the dress is gorgeous, naturally–you look so at ease in it, which is what matters most, and that means you will look beautiful on the big day…

…but I am seriously DROOLING over those accessories. I LOVE the lariait necklace, I love the earrings, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the headpiece. I literally just purchased a pheasant hat pad this morning, and I love the rustic charm of yours–it’s so perfect for your event!

Sorry, had to gush. ;-)

I love it! I am curious to know if you considered using an independent seamstress vs. LBE and which you would choose if you had to do it over again?

Miss Cherry Pie says:

@Tjada: I didn’t really consider an independent seamstress– they never present that as an option and honestly, I had so many other things on my mind that I didn’t want to try! :)

Heather says:

Miss Cherry Pie says:

@Miss Avocado: It’s also from La Belle Elaine’s! :D

Lisa says:

I have purchased the same dress. I am just trying to work out which crinoline to add underneath. Which did you choose?

35.
Lisa says:

oh, i also must ask - are you having a bustle?

36.
Bee Icon
Mrs. Cherry Pie says:

@Lisa: Hi Lisa! I had a French bustle put onto the dress– very simple. I did not purchase any crinoline for the dress. It comes with a layer of crinoline– among three other slip layers. My feeling was that it didn’t need anything else, and La Belle Elaine’s didn’t suggest crinoline either. :)
