The Big Day: Bouquet Found

August 24th, 2008 @ 12:23 pm by Mrs. Gingerbread

As soon as the ceremony was over, we hightailed it back up to the room we’d been hanging out in before the ceremony to retrieve our bouquets that we forgot when we walked down the aisle! Our officiant actually recommended that we take ten minutes to “just be married” and spend some time together before getting swept up in celebrating with family and friends. I think we spent most of the time saying stuff like, “Oh my God, we’re married! Can you believe it? Wow, we’re married!”

We then headed downstairs to rejoin our guests and to take some family photos. Mama Gingerbread hugged Miss GB 2.0 and told her, “The ceremony was so beautiful. It was perfect!” Miss GB 2.0 couldn’t bear to tell her new MIL that we forgot the bouquets she’d spent all night making for us. But as soon as I saw Mama Gingerbread I blurted out, “Oh Mom, we forgot the bouquets!” Of course, she is a totally awesome, selfless Mama and said she didn’t even notice!

As you’ll see from the rest of these photos, the bouquets made a prominent appearance as we attempted to compensate for our mistake. :)

While we quickly snapped some family photos, our other guests entertained themselves on the suspension bridge!

Hmm, twenty family members in one shot is a little crazy.

Four seems to be a more manageable number. Here is a photo with Mama Gingerbread and Brother Gingerbread.

I don’t know if I told you this, but both my grandparents got sick before the wedding and we were worried that they wouldn’t be able to make it. It was such a blessing to have them there with us! Grandpa Gingerbread told me that when he saw the ring drop, he was ready to jump up to keep it from falling into the river below. Fortunately, it didn’t come to that, but I appreciated his commitment to protecting our rings!

Before joining our guests at the reception, Mrs. GB 2.0 and I made a quick stop at the pier by the restaurant for a few more posed shots.

And then we were ready to party and eat!

Next up: The Reception! Or maybe Details. Hmm, I don’t know what’s next. Any special requests?

Also, whatever your brother is doing in the pic of him standing next to Mrs. 2.0 (pointing) is really funny. Probably unintentionally so.
