About Mrs. Cookie

Last Tuesday, we met with our dynamic duo of photographers, Mark and Michele of IN Photography, to redo our engagement photos. Boy, the contrast between this e-shoot and our last one was night and day! (I really wish I could show you the other e-photos so you can see the difference, but alas, due to copyright issues I can’t!) Our last shoot was very posed and stiff and didn’t captured the essence of Red Rocks, this amazing park/amphitheater outside of Denver, at all. I am so glad we switched photographers because our shoot with Mark and Michele was twenty times more fun, candid, and they totally nailed the beauty of Red Rocks.

Out of over 85 shots, we are having a really hard time narrowing down our favorites — we love them all. Here are some of our favorite photos in our formal attire:

Although the appropriate shoes for this type of terrain were certainly not heels, they were absolutely necessity for this short cookie. As you can see, Mr. Cookie is still taller than me even when I’m wearing 3″ heels and am standing on a rock. Mark and Michele were so afraid I was going to twist my ankle during this part of our shoot.

I love this shot of the foothills!

Mark and Michele asked us to dance, similar to how we would dance at the wedding. I put my head on Mr. Cookie’s chest and then…

…he dipped me. A shocked and surprised look on my face followed.

Then, off to the Red Rocks amphitheater for our causal photos…

They look fantastic! And for whatever my $0.02 is worth, I like the third one from the top the best (off-center landscape shot).

I like the 3rd one from the top best too, the classic “foot pop” I love it. They’re all beautiful though.

great! I’m really glad you’re writing about the difference between a mediocre photography experience and a fantastic one. It makes me really sad to see so many people focused on getting the ‘best deal’ that they lose sight of quality and personality and style.

You must be so happy!
