While I loved Miss Hydrangea’s, Miss Sundae’s and Miss Cherry Pie’s J. Crew Martine Clutches and Miss Candy Corn’s and Miss Shortcake’s Red Ruby Rose clutches, I just couldn’t find what I was looking for when it came to my bridal bag. In fact, I honestly didn’t know what I wanted! Finally, during a Gilt Groupe sale just last month, I was able to purchase my bridal bag. It’s a black raffia Lorelei bag - yes, a black bridal accessory - and it had a black and white striped bow. How perfect is that? I couldn’t pass it up.

Gilt Final Sale Price $98
It was love at first sight! It matches our wedding theme perfectly and is totally re-usable after the wedding day. This, of course, enabled me to ignore the heavy price tag. However, when I received it in the mail, there was one more surprise that cemented my decision in place.

Uhm, green lining? Did Lorelei make this bag just for ME!?
With my handbag, erm, in the bag. I was on the hunt for something similar to gift my bridesmaids. Something they will either be able to use again, or is so cheap it doesn’t matter if they do or don’t, but is still not-so-tacky looking.AND THIS IS WHERE MY BRIDESMAIDS SHOULD STOP READING!
In fact, I was tempted to use my leftover table runner fabric to just sew them something. This is where the lovely Craftzine blog steps in and saved my DIY life - I stumbled upon this post on how to sew a Japanese Knot Bag as shown below. The best part? They are reversible!
