My First Bridal Shower!

August 26th, 2008 @ 9:29 am by Mrs. Coconut

My very first bridal shower was two weeks ago and it was so much fun! Newlywed Sister Coconut and my best friend, Ashley, hosted my shower at a beach resort in Clearwater, Florida. Although, from what Ashley tells me, Sister Coconut did all the work, Ashley just helped foot the bill.

I love Sister Coconut incredibly - she put so much thought into every detail, down to the decor and the yummy dessert. Get ready for a massive photo tour!

As you can kind of see, the room was right on the water in a very bright and cheery room. Check out the beautiful blue hydrangeas that graced the table with the clean white linens. Yum.

The food was really yummy. Since we were at a beach restaurant, they had lots of fruit and yummy salad toppings. Unfortunately, I didn’t eat much. The closer I get to the wedding, the less I eat. Weird. I’ve NEVER had a small appetite, but maybe Vera Wang has hired some minions to invade my conscience and forbid me from eating. Thank you VW. Thank you very much.

Everyone had these cute green Martha Stewart place cards that contained Godiva Chocolate. Although for me, notice what Sister C did? My chocolate is actually white coconut chocolate and what’s that? Oh yes, it’s a coconut truffle! Yes, that’s right!

My mom is totally giddy in this picture.

My two U of Michigan bridesmaids, Kate and Ashley!!!

The first game was pretty simple and quite hilarious. Sister C had written name tags and placed them on everyone’s back. You had to ask others questions about the tag and try to guess who you had. Of course, this was my tag:

The next game was the BEST GAME in bridal shower history. Does anyone watch Friends? We played the game that Chandler, Joey, Rachel and Monica play when they bid their apartment.

It was the most fun I’ve ever had at a bridal shower. Seriously.

Sister C commissioned one of her friends to make a massive, yummy carrot cake. See how big it is? Oh man. It was so gooood.

Okay, we’ve moved on to gifts. I’m not sure why a flour sifter is this funny? Maybe it was the Pinot talking?

I swear I’m not endorsing Emeril. I just wanted to show y’all my biceps. See ’em?! I know, they aren’t sticking out much, but I swear my muscles are starting to pop! I love it!

Apparently receiving herb snips yields this face. Who knew?

Mama Coconut got us luggage! It was so huge that no airline would let us check it, so I ended up exchanging for something a bit smaller!

Here are some pictures of my Mama and Sister:

I love you, sissy! You’re the best!

I seriously had the best time at my first bridal shower.

What was your favorite part about your shower?

Your mom is so beautiful! Was that in Tallahassee? I spent lots of time at the mall there when I was in college in Valdosta, GA.
You look like you had so much fun and were surrounded by so many people that love you!
