Juxtaposition, Location: Boston Sand and Gravel

A few weeks ago, I showed you some teaser photos from the Juxtaposition project by Rachel Hadiashar. I’m SO, SO excited to share some more images from the shoot!
(This is your warning… I loved too many of these to pick just a few to share. MAJOR picture overload ahead!)
I mentioned that all the previous photos I showed you before were taken in Boston’s Chinatown. Before we hit up Chinatown, we had the awesome privilege and pleasure to take some photos in a more industrial setting—Boston Sand and Gravel!
Boston Sand and Gravel is located by the Zakum Bridge and right under I-93. Rachel called ahead to secure the location, and the company was even nice enough to provide us with our escort (Hi, Alan! 
).
The location was so cool because it provided us with so many interesting and unique backdrops… I love the barrels in the background of these next few shots.
If I had to pick a favorite series of pictures though, it would have to be these three.
I love this shot, but I was sitting very awkwardly on Mr. Toucan…
…which is why you see me falling here.
Luckily, we recovered in time to take this shot.
Like most wedding photography, our after-shoot featured mostly me, the bride, but I love this shot of my handsome hubby.

While we were leaving the plant, we saw some old train cars and tracks, and we just HAD to stop to take some photos.
Mr. Toucan has a strange affinity to trains and subway cars, so these are his favorite shots!
This shoot was SO much fun - I think both of us felt like models for a day!

How does one even get involved in these opportunities? So many of the bees do these sorts of things - do photographers seek you out because you’re on the site?
@caulner: I found out about the opportunity because I am a reader of Rachel’s blog. She posted it on her site, and I responded.
@caulner: these opportunities are out there for everyone, you just have to know where to look. For example, the Scott Robert workshop in NY, I actually wrote a post saying that they were looking for models.
WOW. First of all, Mr. Toucs never gets enough compliments, so let me just say that he looks hot in his pics. Second, as always, you look super hot. Third, that first photo could seriously be in a print ad; I hope you guys are blowing these up and putting them all over your apartment for a zone of hotness.
I 2nd Miss Hot Cocoa “zone of hotness”…you two exude happiness & hotness.
oooh… that b&w shot where you’re sitting on his lap on the stairs and your hair is just a bit mussed and his tie is just a tad loose… two thumbs up! I agree with Miss Hot Cocoa completely in re the zone of hotness.

all your faves are my faves too! i really like the “awkward sitting” picture b/c you both look so naturally and genuinely happy! and that sepia pic REALLY looks like a print ad to me. cute!

We are! I am constanltly planning new locations that I would like to shoot at, and an industrial setting is so tempting! #9 is my favorite!

Mrs. Toucan, you look absolutly BEAUTIFUL and you can just tell how in love you and mr. tocan are from the pictures, they are amazing! This so makes me want to do something like this with FI after the wedding—great shots!!!
