I am wearing one of Mari’s beautiful haircombs on my big day! It is absolutely stunning and everyone I have shown it to has gushed. Plus, Mari was a doll to deal with.

I would choose the Something Blue Vintage Hairpins. My wedding jewelry is all sapphire and diamond, to match my engagement ring, and after the ceremony when I remove my birdcage veil I plan on wearing a flower behind one ear — these pins would hold that flower beautifully, and work overtime holding my birdcage veil in place, too!

I am so impressed with these designs! Not only do I adore the vintage feel but they are exemplary inspiration pieces that I have been searching for for my wedding. My grandparents are my muses for planning my wedding. They met 65 years ago on Cape Cod while he was home from WW2 before being sent to Japan. He had no money but he bought her a lobster and kissed her under a tree and the rest is “don’t sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me” history.

We will be married on Cape Cod, serenaded by a bugle, and will serve lobster in their honor. My fabulous mermaid Italian silk Anne Barge gown will look lovely with a chic piece like the “vintage flower hair comb.” I would love to take the haircomb and possibly add wire netting to make a custom birdcage veil for the ceremony.
