About Mrs. Daffodil

“Ia Orana!”  That’s the welcome greeting they use in Moorea - And what a welcome sight it was!  Moorea is probably one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.  The island itself is a mix of mountains, lush tropical greenery, and palm trees.  And all surrounding the edge, you have the beautiful lagoons.

Just check out how gorgeous it was… btw, Mr. D took all of the photos used in this post himself!

Gorgeous, yes? We couldn’t believe we were actually here. We spent a good hour just checking out the resort, ooohing and ahhing over everything from the pool to the beach to our beautiful suite, which you can see below!

z162189

We spent the afternoon snorkeling and then later just relaxing by the pool. After a lovely meal, we enjoyed a stroll in the sunset and a Tahitian show they had at our hotel that evening.

z16218901

Can I show you just what a beautiful place Moorea really is? Mr. D is getting into photography, so every evening and early morning, we set out to capture the island’s beauty on film!

A night shot of the bungalows…They have these lights at the bottoms so you can see underwater from inside your suite!

Some early morning sunrise shots Mr. D took the next day…

Aren’t these just so serene and beautiful?

And here’s a silhouette shot we took later on in the week…

Truly the most beautiful. place. ever. Talk about honeymooning in heaven on earth.

Up next: We discover the island!

Note: I am probably just biased, but I think Mr. D really took some gorgeous pictures! If you would like to borrow any of these for whatever reason, we’d sincerely appreciate if you credit the “Daffodils on Weddingbee” smiley10109, as they are very personal and special to us!

Those pictures are amazing- I can’t even imagine how beautiful it was in person! Were you staying in one of the bungalows over the water?

I have been anxiously awaiting your updates as this is our honeymoon itinerary too. Where were you staying in Moorea?

Wow- talk about serene! I don’t know about you- but either that water would be so welcoming OR I would be a little intimidated putting ripples in the water and disturbing the calmness! *But how was swimming in the water out of curiosity? ;o)

@weddingholic: we split it up! we started with a garden bungalow and later on in the week moved to the overwater ones! actually, my objective opinion is that the overwater one is pretty cool just for the novelty, but the garden one was actually more comfortable and cleaner. mr. d and i actually really missed our garden bungalow, so if price is an issue at all, i’d recommend doing only a couple days in the overwater just for the experience and the rest of the time in the garden!

@Tjada: we stayed at the Sheraton Moorea! Beautiful resort and in our opinion, the best! Haha, we actually visited the other resorts just to check them out, and we concluded that we made the right decision…Sheraton is the prettiest and has the best beach!

@Sparkles: i know what you mean…it is so gorgeous! and the water was amazing! :-) totally the perfect temperature!

Awesome, we are staying there :-) I can’t wait to see your future posts. We are doing a garden bungalow there and then doing the overwater bungalow in Bora Bora.

Mrs. Daffadil,

This looks absolutely breath taking. How long of a honeymoon did you take or would you suggest? I want to make sure to not take too short or too long of a honeymoon but just the right amount of time to take it all in.

Thank you :)

Someone already asked this, but what camera are you using? I think the 6th shot down is particularly beautiful.

These gorgeous pictures brought back memories of my honeymoon as well! We spent time in Moorea and Bora Bora. We stayed at the Intercontineal in Moorea. Tahiti is amazing and you can not get used to seeing those gorgoues views every day you wake up. I felt as if we were stuck in a dream. Oh how I wish we were still there.

Honeymooning in French Polynesia: Moorea » Weddingbee » The Wedding Blog

[...] We didn’t spend any time in Tahiti itself, but instead went straight to the ferry terminal for a quick boat ride to the nearby island of Moorea. (The Daffodils also honeymooned on Moorea! You can check it out here.) [...]
