The Final Countdown

August 27th, 2008 @ 2:40 pm by Mrs. Hydrangea

I logged into my other obsession (or time waster), Facebook, this morning to see this on my profile:

That’s right! We are officially one month out from the wedding. I’m getting so excited, at times a little nervous and, most of all, antsy. I’m ready to see it all come together, the signs, flowers, lighting, music, decorations, favors - EVERYTHING!

All of our invitations are out - about half of our RSVPs are back (of the 298 invited, so far 145 are attending and 39 are not) - and our rehearsal invites went out this morning. Now all I can think of are the final things to be done:

- Finalize guest list
- Finalize room layout (and flowers, lighting, etc.)
- Make the OOT bags
- Purchase two more parent’s gifts
- Favors
- Programs
- Escort cards (which means figure out seating, which I’m not looking forward to)

And that’s just the top of the list. As the wedding comes closer, the less organized I seem to be (my motivation to keep up my wedding binder has been lackluster, at best). What are you all planning to do to keep yourself on top of things for that final countdown?

Aww, how exciting! And STA is the church I went to every weekend with my great grandmother from the time I was born until the time she passed away. It’s SO SO SO gorgeous!

I’m down to just about a month too and I couldn’t agree with you more. My organization, energy and motivation are zero. I’ve gotta get things going!

We have the same wedding date:-)

I seem to be lacking inspiration as well. I just want it to be here. You have done well with getting rsvps back….we are almost half way there but asked people to draw us a penguin and i think some are having trouble doing this hehe. But the first date we went on was to happy feet and we thought it would be cool to have a slideshow of different penguins that people drew show up during the cocktail time.

Oh lord, I totally have the song in my head now! Lol. I’m so excited for you! You’ll get everything done, & even if you don’t it’s the getting married that matters!

Ah! I too am a 9.27 bride, and caught the one month mini-panic this morning. I have to say, I’m glad to see you’re still waiting for about as many RSVPs as we are (Come on, people!), but I think your to do list is looking better than mine at this point. I think I need to stop reading wedding blogs *gasp!* so that I’ll stop adding DIY projects!!

And thanks for reminding me I need to order envelopes for the Rehearsal invites!!
