And finally… the pro pics!
All photos in this post (and please note, these aren’t the full resolution files—they’re way too huge!) are by the extremely talented and all-around delightful Samantha Warren of Samantha Warren Weddings (previously known as I Do Click Photography). We are just simply overwhelmed by all of the beautiful images that she captured. We knew we loved her work, but after clicking through our photos over and over again, we just can’t believe what a perfect job she had done at capturing the story of our day. I’ve mentioned that we booked Sam on an impulse after looking through the images on her website, and I can’t tell you how lucky we are to have had her there on our wedding day. More to come, but for now—since we can’t say it enough—thank you, Sam!
Below is the morning, set to music. I think that Sam did such an amazing job that the pictures tell the story by themselves. If you’d like to hear me tell it too, then keep reading. ![]()
I didn’t sleep well on the night before the wedding, but I pretty much knew that I wouldn’t. It was just all too much—the anticipation, the arrival of close friends and family, the celebration the night before—and I knew it was just going to get better from there. I spent the night before the wedding at a hotel with my maid of honor, and we woke up to a beautiful sunny day. The forecast was calling for “isolated thundershowers” and I was just certain that we had seen the worst that Mother Nature was going to throw at us the night before.
My favorite hairdresser in the world, Colleen Smith (of Salon Rubio), set to work turning me into a bride right away.

Just out of sight here were all of my best friends and sisters keeping me highly entertained to stave off any wedding day jitters. I’d say they did an excellent job.

Thank goodness you all helped me choose to wear my hair up! Can you imagine loose hair after humidity, rain, hail and hours of dancing? Even with this style, my hair didn’t exactly make it through to the end of the night unscathed.

I had a few minutes to relax before it was time to go to the reception site to get dressed, and I spent them up on the balcony of my hotel room with my best friend, L. I can remember this moment so clearly. I just felt an overwhelming sense of calm, and it was almost as if I were about to just spend a day on the beach—among hundreds doing the same—instead of being about to head off to my own wedding.

I love this shot of York Beach- proof that the day started off with beautiful weather:

Sam was there every step of the way as we headed over to the reception site, and I jumped the gun by a few hours by showing off my new initials:

Where would a bride be without her binder?

The boys were under strict instructions to be outside of the house when we arrived so that Mr. Tiramisu and I wouldn’t see each other. They obliged, despite the scorching heat:

Sam was kind enough to deliver Mr. T’s gift to him:

I was so excited to see that he loved the cufflinks!

I had no idea that Sam captured this great shot of our rings:

I had been waiting all day for the moment when I could finally put on my dress, and I will forever treasure these pictures of my Mom and my Nana helping me into it.

My best friends were right there too. These moments were some of the most memorable of the entire day.

Once I had my dress on, my Maid of Honor handed me a little box and a note that brought me to tears.

It was time to go, so I slipped on my new ring, took one last look in the mirror, and headed off to the church.
Next time: the Tiramisus tie the knot!
