———————————————————-

When I last left you, Mr. Toucan and I finally got the kiss we almost missed. Yay! We’re married!

The thing that we didn’t prepare for was what we were going to do after we finished recessing down the aisle. We walked all they way out of the church…

And our whole wedding party followed us… err… Now what?!

Turns out everyone else followed them, which lead to this:
An impromptu receiving line. We didn’t plan to have one, since we thought it’d take up too much time, but hey! We just got married, and went with it! :)

Our flower girls went back inside the church to wait for our formal pictures.

How FREAKIN’ cute!

Finally, we finished our receiving line, and I got to get out of the sun and back into the church!
As I mentioned before, our wedding day was REALLY hot! Mr. Toucan had to frequently wipe his face from sweat.
Actually, in the above picture, we were telling the best man about something that happened during the ceremony. Poor Mr. Toucan was sweating in a hot church fully dressed in a tux. He motioned over to his best man, and pretended to pat his face - indicating of course that Mr. Toucan wanted a towel to wipe his face. The best man gives Mr. Toucan the “Oh, right!” look, proceeds to pull out the towel from his pocket, and then… wipes his own face! We clearly all thought it was funny. Mr. Toucan… not so much. ;)

Anyway, it was on to the formals. I’ll only show you a select few, because we took A LOT. First, here’s the one with the wedding party - look at the difference when we added the kids!

Our wedding party was doubled when we added the kids!

Formal photos are nice to have, but most are pretty generic and boring. Look even the groomsmen look a little bored!

Ok. I lie (Bad, Toucan, Bad!). I just like this picture and I wanted to show it to you.

Anyway, only one more formal photo I wanted to show you. This is just my dad’s side of the family.
We took a couple of shots per group, so when we got our proofs back, we had a couple of family shots to choose from. I originally chose the above photo to get prints for my dad’s side of the family… until my sister pointed out something in the picture that I had missed. Do you see it?!? (you can click the image to enlarge)

After formals were finished, it’s off to the reception!
Next up: Tea Ceremony #2!

There’s always one clown in every group photo! I think it’s sort of fun with him doing the Batman!

How much do I love that your bouquet is tied with your BMs’ dress fabric?!? Did you already talk about that? Is it from their alterations? I can’t remember if their dresses were custom-made…

Mrs. Toucan says:

@GorgesViola: Thanks! The BM dresses were custom-made in HK when we went in the winter. My sister and cousin who both wore the reverse v-neck dress decided to not wear the sashes that were made for their dresses, so I used it for my bouquet wrap. I really liked how it really did match the girls perfectly! Had they wanted to wear their sashes, I had planned to take some material from my cousin’s dress. She was not in HK with us to get fitted, so we made sure there was extra fabric in case it needed to be altered - we left a TON of room on her hem.

I think you should still get that shot for the family. What a hilarious moment. He will never live that one down.

Oh right, now I remember! It is such a gorgeous shade of blue and looks awesome with all the pink. By the way, I love how your shoes are featured in the Zakim/sand&gravel pics!!

haha… Mr P and I actually argued a lot about what should happen after we walked back up the aisle after the ceremony. I don’t want to offend anyone by saying I think what they’ve done is rude, so I’m going to keep my mouth shut about just what the issues in contention were. In any case, because we argued about it, I was quite detailed about exactly what should happen, and how to cue people to naturally follow us out into the foyer.

I’m glad things worked for you organically :)

That little dude is funny! It reminds me of my aunt and uncle’s wedding pictures….my mom was holding me ( I was probably around 3) everyone is smiling and looking great…and me…I’m CRYING my eyes out! Apparently I was really upset about something!

@jennred782: I think it’s Thai silk. At least that’s what they told me at the shop in China. :)
