About Mrs. Avocado

I love my e-ring. I love it so much I don’t want it to have to share my left ring finger with anything else. I wanted a wedding band, especially due to the existence of our ring ceremony, but I wasn’t sure how I was going to wear it. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that in Eastern Europe, wedding bands are worn on the right hand and not the left. Perfect! I would keep my e-ring on my left for America, and wear something on my right for Poland. My two homes.

Then I opened the wedding budget, and things were not looking good for me. Enter Alchemy, the portal for custom item requests on Etsy. I created a request detailing I was looking for, and the price I was hoping for. I received 5 or 6 replies, and was immediately drawn to the work of bddesigns. I love the look of hammered jewelery, and I thought that a set of her inscribed stacking rings would complement my e-ring nicely.

For just a little bit more, we set up a payment that would include a trio of engraved stacking rings for myself, and a wedding band for Mr. Avocado. She was very prompt to reply to my emails, and we had soon settled on a price and a design. I was pumped to have her offer to send me photos of the creation process. Shots like that are a blogger’s dream.

I also want to note how beautiful her photography is - good photos get me so excited. Although I don’t have the final product in my hands yet, she has sent me the next batch of photos and they look exactly like what I was envisioning. I’m going to make you wait one more day to see them though!

I love textured bands.
I’m probably going to get mine custom made just for that reason.
I’m definitely spluring on that one, but it’s well worth it because it will last more than just a day…

I love those too! Too bad my ring wouldn’t go with those… But I am definitely considering ordering a few items for bridesmaid’s presents. I love love Etsy!

that’s so cool to have the rings for the different places like that!! i am a little confused about why the rings are shaped like D’s instead of round? it’s been a long day, so i’m sorry if there is an obvious reason for this and i missed it! can you tell me again please?? :)

@miss teaberry: Haha, I was really nervous myself when I first saw the photos, but that must just be part of the process because I got them in the mail today and they are all shiny and silver and round.

I love your textured bands, too! the stack is sweet. it’s both delicate and substantial.

@miss teaberry: The rings are D shaped, because when she bends the two ends of the metal to meet each other, they meet square and straight, end to end for soldering. After soldering, the ring is hammered round again, and then sanded and polished.

when we took the workshop to make our own wedding bands, I didn’t know that Sara, who ran and taught the workshop would also photograph as we worked and give us a CD of the photos as well. those photos have really been a hit, and I have a couple of them in my locker at work.

Is the middle one a copper color? I really love that idea. Stacking rings are so chic!

Beautiful, and what a great way to find them. We might have gotten Mr T’s ring custom-made, if we’d known where to go…. Well done!

@Miss Dumpling: I got them all in silver because I wasn’t brave enough to do anything else. I wish now that I would have given it a try though!
