About Mrs. Pineapple

take a nap.

This is advice my mom, somewhat jokingly, gave me growing up. (Along with “you don’t have to be hungry to eat” and when dad asked for some single dollar bills to “always trade up.”) Well, aside from mailing the invites and a first/first and a half dress fitting, the last couple months I have taken a much needed wedding nap.

My to do list, which I should really write down, is a mental mile long. There are so many things I haven’t even thought about. There are even guests that I didn’t know about.

The good news? I am finally starting to go through wedding withdrawal. I went from planning overload to missing all the little projects. I am itching to get started on programs and the favor scarves. The even better news? Only 200 miles away from me (and closing!) the reinforcements are rolling in! (More on that tomorrow.) The next 51 days are going to wedding packed and fabulous!

Did anyone else have to take a wedding nap to get their second wind?

I am taking a forced wedding nap. More of a wedding time-out. Lol. I’ve been trying to plan our big day in India from Saint Louis, and I’ve finally realized it’s impossible! Everything keeps changing, and the number of unknowns is piling up, so since I’m leaving for New Delhi the 25th, I’ve decided to just take a break until then. Althought this is pretty dissapointing, it’s good to hear that I’m not the only one whose had to chill a bit. Thanks for sharing!

I love naps! I too was wiped out from the stress of getting the invites out the door and some vendor mishaps. But my nap has been a bit too long. Now with only 23 days left I have to high tail it to the finish line

I like the word naps for it! I’ve been calling it a hiatus! I’ve had two so far, 1 planned and 1 that just happened. I still have over 8 months to go, but I have a 3rd wind now, so I’m trying to get some more done before I have another hiatus!

After researching a ceremony location, reception venue, dress fitting at four places in one week, and securing things such as the photographer all within one month and some (late March thru April), I was a bit tired. I tried to do a few makeup and hair appointment before I mentally crashed a month later. June and July were quiet (except for invitations). Now I’m ramping back up and feeling a bit overwhelmed and busy but it was nice not to have to think about it. It’s definitely nice to just sit back and enjoy the engagement a little bit.

Yes! Just coming out of mine this last couple of weeks. I was SO over my (still 9 months away) ‘wedding’ that I very very seriously considered eloping! Now suddenly all the details have become FUN again, instead of a chore. :)

I wish I did but the to do list got so long, it could probably beat the length of the Great Wall of China by an inch. Hehe. I also tried to on my wedding day but again, could not find the time. So, here’s my advise {your Mum is very wise to start it off}; go take a nap whenever you need it and don’t worry about the to do’s. Everything will miraculously sort itself out. It did for me!

P/S: I slept through the mornings every single day of our honeymoon =p
