The Wedding Bands: A First Look

August 29th, 2008 @ 2:11 pm by Mrs. Avocado

Continuing with the wedding band creation process by bddesigns, today I’d like to show you the process of hammering and engraving.

Engraving. My handwriting is so terrible with a pen, I can’t imagine using a hammer.

Hammering. Doesn’t it look fun?

A smooth finish, 1/4 inch band for Mr. Avocado.

My finished trio. I’ll reveal what the inscription says when I receive the rings in the mail.

Did you do something nontraditional for your wedding bands?

This is way cool, wish I had done something like this

So is the engraving on the oustide of the ring so it can be read instead of the inner part where your finger covers it? That is so neat.

We also went for custom bands. And I too am going to wear my wedding ring on my right hand! Beth Cyr made a set of these for us:

We even got two sets as I am really hard on rings and we think my FH will lose at least one.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. My FI and I fell in love with gorgeous rings from DeSignet that we can’t afford by the time our rapidly-approaching-wedding arrives, so we’re putting them off as an anniversary present later. I love, love, love, those hammered stacking rings and they’re well within our budget!

@Sara: I looked at textured rings as well! I had a whole bunch of Beth’s rings favorites while I was searching.

@Dani: Your comment really made my day! This is why I write for weddingbee. I hope that my posts are not only entertaining but helpful. I’ll be following your blog to see what rings you end up with!
