And finally… the pro pics!
All photos in this post (and please note, these aren’t the full resolution files—they’re way too huge!) are by the extremely talented and all-around delightful Samantha Warren of Samantha Warren Weddings (previously known as I Do Click Photography). We are just simply overwhelmed by all of the beautiful images that she captured. We knew we loved her work, but after clicking through our photos over and over again, we just can’t believe what a perfect job she had done at capturing the story of our day. I’ve mentioned that we booked Sam on an impulse after looking through the images on her website, and I can’t tell you how lucky we are to have had her there on our wedding day. More to come, but for now—since we can’t say it enough—thank you, Sam!
Below is the morning, set to music. I think that Sam did such an amazing job that the pictures tell the story by themselves. If you’d like to hear me tell it too, then keep reading. ![]()

Mr. PN and I are in search of the perfect bar in San Francisco for our after party. All of our guests are staying in San Francisco and busing out to Napa for the wedding, and we will all be returning to San Francisco for the evening. Mr. PN and I plan to steal a little time after the wedding for fun photos and then we will meet up with our family and friends on Saturday night at a local bar. This will be a very unofficial meet up as a way for us to spend some extra time with our family and friends that will be traveling so far to be with us on our wedding day.

“Ia Orana!” That’s the welcome greeting they use in Moorea - And what a welcome sight it was! Moorea is probably one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The island itself is a mix of mountains, lush tropical greenery, and palm trees. And all surrounding the edge, you have the beautiful lagoons.
Just check out how gorgeous it was… btw, Mr. D took all of the photos used in this post himself!

Before I show you our beyond fabulous engagement photos, I want to introduce you to our photographer, Kelli Nicole.
First I will tell you a sad story. I found a photographer I loved. He takes pictures that make me want to cry (that’s how pretty they are). He was available, he was affordable, he would fly across the country for us. I mailed him a contract and a check, and then he called to tell me that he hadn’t realized we’d changed our date, and that a couple had booked him just a week before. I cried.
Then I was reading through some friend’s blogs. My freshman roomate Kelli’s blog came up, with a particularly beautiful shoot featuring a gorgeous family. I was startled. Could this be the same girl I roomed with 4 years ago? The pictures she was putting up looked nothing like I remembered her creating back in the day. Would I make a Friendor out of this girl? Could we reconnect once again?
Cue the wavy music that cheesy sitcoms use. And the fuzzy edged effect.
I must have wardrobe on the brain lately, as today I can’t stop thinking about what the boys are going to wear (and how awesome Mr. Lemonade is going to look all dressed up! Y-U-M!). We’re pretty casual in our daily lives and Mr. Lemonade’s job is such that he doesn’t “dress up” in a suit and tie, so I’m that much more excited about not only Mr. Lemonade, but also the groomsmen and musicians (who are some of our very best friends as well) getting all done up in their formal wear.
That said, we’re not sure yet what exactly they’ll be outfitted in. Since we’re going for that ultra swanky formal vibe, they’ll all be sporting tuxes, and since none of them can remember the last time they needed a tux, they will all be renting. We had to choose a company that is national since one of our guys is located in Ohio (no, we don’t hold that against him… often). Since they happen to have a location across the street from our house, we decided we’re going to give the Men’s Wearhouse a chance.

I can’t go any farther without introducing you to our dog Maxwell. He’s 12-15 lbs (depending on the day, really and if he’s managed to fool the baby lock on our trash) of pure personality. Max is a very loving dog, and Champ and I are so lucky to have him… We love him so much we even had him in our engagement photos!
Call me a feminist or un-traditional, but I am not comfortable with the traditional giving away of the bride. I think it is an incredibly sweet, touching moment in the ceremony when the father gives away the bride, but it’s just not me. We did, however, want some kind of a symbolic gesture.
An organized bride certainly needs her share of secret weapons - and there is certainly no shortage of bridal armory available via many outlets. I wanted to share with you the key pieces that I have been using over the past year to help keep things in check. Some are software programs and some are of the paper variety, as I prefer to use a blend of the old and new when it comes to organization. I could probably do a solo post on each of these items - but it’s really the combination of them that makes them so awesome.
iDo Wedding Software

I purchased this software within 2 months of our engagement and haven’t really looked back. When choosing a piece of software, I was looking for ease of use, portability and cost effectiveness - this had it all. Honestly, I haven’t found an online wedding planning tool that is as comprehensive - and I’ve tried them all: The Knot, WedShare, Martha’s Wedding Planning Tools, My Wedding Hero, and Wedding Wire (there’s more - but I won’t list them all). I prefer iDo out of all of them - I just wish it were on the web.

So clean, so Web 2.0 - I love it!
I asked my mom to come with me to the first bridal salon since it was in the area, and my dad overheard and sheepishly asked, “Can I come too?”. I thought it was so cute that my dad was actually interested in this stuff, so of course, the two of them tagged along. I brought my trusty SLR with me and instructed my parents the basic uses of it so that they could take pictures of me in the gowns. While I was in the dressing room changing into what I think was my second or third gown, I heard them bickering outside in the waiting room.
Dad: Stop it! Stop!
Mom: Just do it!
Dad: No just sit down she’ll be out soon.
Mom: Just once!
Dad: FINE.
The hilarious thing was that when we got home after trying on 5 gowns, I was flipping through the camera and almost fell off my chair laughing when I saw pictures of my parents. While I was in the dressing room changing, they were taking pictures of each other!! My parents were playing around with the camera and eventually my dad got annoyed at all the picture taking that my mom was doing and that was the conversation I overheard.
(omg, they’re totally going to kill me when they find out that I am posting this!)

I’m running super behind on my wedding recap, mostly because I haven’t had the time to resize some of our super large wedding images! So, instead, I thought I’d share just a few more of our Juxtaposition images by Rachel Hadiashar of MERGE weddings.
After shooting at Boston Sand and Gravel, we headed into the city to roam around in Chinatown, where we got to trade in our industrial looking background for a more urban one. Check it out:
I logged into my other obsession (or time waster), Facebook, this morning to see this on my profile:
That’s right! We are officially one month out from the wedding. I’m getting so excited, at times a little nervous and, most of all, antsy. I’m ready to see it all come together, the signs, flowers, lighting, music, decorations, favors - EVERYTHING!

Well let’s just dive right into it, shall we?
Mr. Dumpling and I have been together for a long time, y’all. I tend to ramble, so the short version is that we did the long distance thing for a while, then I made the big move to Las Vegas so we could be together.
Fast-forward to almost two years later and there we were, happily living together and very much in love. We talked about getting married a few times but I never pressed it. Things were great the way they were and I was happy.
Ha! Who was I kidding? I wanted to marry Mr. Dumpling from the moment I saw him. I was really just trying to play it cool.
Anyway, one night after work I came home, completely exhausted.
Mr. PN and I recently traveled to Birmingham, Alabama for a wedding! Birmingham was just lovely and we had a great time. We arrived on Friday afternoon and checked into our hotel, Embassy Suites Birmingham, and went off to find some lunch. Mr. PN then went to the church for rehearsal and when he returned, we got ready and took the hotel’s free shuttle (best hotel amenity ever!) to the rehearsal dinner at The Club. We enjoyed spectacular views of the city and heard many wonderful speeches about the bride and groom.
On Saturday morning, Mr. PN and I took advantage of the hotel gym (we are total gym rats) and then we enjoyed the fabulous free breakfast buffet at the hotel. We parted ways and I took this opportunity to do a little exploring, so I took a suggestion from the hive and ventured over to the wonderful Pepper Place Saturday Market. I love farmers’ markets and it was so much fun to explore a new city’s market.
