Saying “I do” was magical. It was the moment we dreamed of and it felt like a fairytale that had come true! To add to the already amazing day, we were blessed to have my godmother and my sister-in-law do readings. They were stressed out and nervous about it, but they did a great job!

We didn’t really prepare anything for the candle ceremony so the church provided us with these cute dove shaped candle holders.
When it came time to sign the registries, we wanted to make sure everything was perfect. They say once you sign the registry, it’s over, and you can’t turn back! They happened to make a mistake in Mr. Flamingo’s last name, and I didn’t want to get married to a stranger, so they corrected the registry on the spot.
When it came time to sign the documents, the music was supposed to start. For this part of the ceremony we chose Ingrid Michaelson’s “The Way I Am”. The music didn’t start, but two of my good friends told me that I was staring at the organ player and singer intensely, as I tried to give them the hint with my eyes. They finally caught on, just a little late, and we were ready to sign everything.

So that was it! We were married, and I officially became a Mrs. according to the church and the government. I loved it. It was such a great feeling, even though I chose to keep my own name. Here in Quebec, the Government is pro-independence so they seem to encourage you to keep your name. If you want to change it, there is actually a fee of about $250 to do so! Our children will have Mr. F’s last name, and I really don’t mind keeping my maiden name. I actually think my maiden name sounds much better with my first name, so it’s all good!

Something funny happened while we were walking back down the aisle. The beautiful, secret Superman garter I made for Mr. F slipped down my leg and onto the floor without me even noticing! Right there in the church! Luckily our best man noticed it, grabbed it quickly, and handed it to my mom. My mom stuffed the garter in her dress! I had no idea any of this happened. Luckily, neither did Mr. F!

I loved the sound of the bells ringing. They were just for us. I hope that that moment was caught on video, because everything seemed to get a little blurry for me from that point on.

After that, we were off to take some pictures. We heard a lot of honking in the distance. It was quite amusing and every single person outside looked at us and waved hello.
I think the funny moments of your wedding day are what makes the day more magical.
Did anything funny happen at your wedding?

The only thing that could have made that story better would been if the officiant had picked it up and stuffed it in his pocket
