About Mrs. Lemonade

Hey Cupcake!

September 3rd, 2008 @ 12:49 pm by Mrs. Lemonade

nom nom nom!

Now, I know I’ve already committed to a crazy fondant groom’s cake, a delicious cheesecake buffet, a bundt cake for my cake pull, and a traditional bride’s cake! Whew! That’s a lot of sugar! That being said, Mr. Lemonade and I also have a great love of cupcakes. Now, we’re not talking any old cakes. Ours have to be cupcakes from Hey Cupcake here in Austin.

How cute is this?! Seriously!

Not only are they sold out of the most a-freakin’-dorable cupcake stand ever, they also taste amazing!

Even Sissy and Mama GGB love Hey Cupcake!

We aren’t sure where in the weekend we’re going to be working these little guys in, but we know we have to find a way to bring this little bit of Austin goodness down to SA-town for our guests to enjoy!

Thanks for the sugary goodness, Petey!

Are you having any special food catered at your wedding?

We’re doing a sorbet intermezzo course, and bringing in a fave flavor from Philly’s Capogiro Gelato. Yummy!

That looks delish! Im really considering crashing your wedding so I can eat all of your yummy treats! Kidding=)
Maybe after the rehearsal you can have their cupcake mobile pull up to offer everyone a snack? Or if the majority of your out of town guests are staying at a particular hotel you can schedule them to deliver cupcakes.

We are (fingers crossed) having a gelato cart at the end of our cocktail-party reception! I am so excited about it that if the guy cancels, I may have to look into buying myself a cart and filling it up!

i went to Austin last fall with one of the bands I work with and I made a runner take me from the stadium to Hey Cupcake just so I could try one of their cupcakes! SO yummy! I brought back a box for the band and they were gone within seconds of dropping it off in the green room… haha :)

Hey, Cupcake is seriously an Austin gem. I definitely think it’d be a great idea to incorporate. We’re having Pokey-O’s (Dallas) ice cream sandwiches as the grooms cake, we we debated between having those at the reception or for dessert at the rehearsal dinner for quite a bit. Maybe that might be another idea for you.

In the 2 years i lived in A town I never had a chance to get a Hey Cupcake, even when they were right across from UT!

We decided to do a homemade cookie buffet… I will be baking lots of cookies the week before the wedding! All homemade recipies from both sides of the families!

Maybe you could incorporate cupcakes into the rehearsal dinner somehow? Or they could be favors if you don’t have those yet — send each guest home with a cupcake in some kind of cute container…?
