About Mrs. Hydrangea

Scrrrrrrrr…Where’d it Go?!?

September 3rd, 2008 @ 10:31 am by Mrs. Hydrangea

Talk about lovely timing. When we decided to create our wedding website with Wedorama, the highest increment of time you could purchase a site for was one year. We’ve been engaged for well over a year now, so we assumed that when the site was up for renewal, we’d receive some sort of a notice. Today, when I went online to check our site, I found this:

“The website you requested is not active at this time…”

What a surprise only 25 days out from the wedding!

I have a shower this weekend and our registries are listed on there. The last day to book rooms at our hotel for the special discounted rate is this Friday, and that fact is listed on the site as well. I don’t know how many people are actually referring to our site, but it satisfies us to know that we’ve made this information source available to our friends and family (and advertised it on just about every piece of paper we’ve sent them).

I sent Wedorama an email, as they requested, and I went online and paid to renew our site for one more year. As soon as I did that, it was back up and running. With the long weekend last weekend, I didn’t bother to check in on it quite as religiously as I normally would have, so I’m not sure when the site went down. Either way, with the problem now solved, I can breathe a huge sigh of relief!

What minor/major, unexpected glitches have happened to you with only a short amount of time to go before the big day?

OMG…you poor thing. That must have given you a heart attack!! I’ve never trusted wedding website providers that charge money…I’m using mywedding.com. VERY reliable and they also have great resources specific for your location. They have really pretty wedding website designs and everything is ALWAYS free. Check it…www.mywedding.com

Hi just realized yesterday that I made a major typo on our map card included in the invitation! I have no idea how it happened, but if our guests end up turning down that specific road, they’ll be far far away from the wedding :( I guess I was just in a hurry to get everything designed, printed, assembled and sent out.

I sent an email to our guests North of us to try and explain the mishap; I only hope nobody turns down that wrong road! Only 30 days away now…
