Time to Get Bridal: Daffodil Day Pt. II

Pt. I: Make Me Pretty!

z164109
It really does take a village to help a bride get in her dress!

Guess what, hive? Oh yes, my friends, you better believe it. We got all the raw images from our professional photographers back. All 15 GBs of them. And while the beautiful sure-to-knock-your-socks-off post-processed pics are yet to come, I just couldn’t resist starting off my recaps with some of these! So without further ado, here we go!

After getting our hair and makeup done in our hotel room, we piled into the car and headed to the church! Once we arrived, the ladies immediately headed for the Bride’s Room. Our attendants had graciously purchased lunch for the entire wedding party, and so we all munched on (or maybe I should say scarfed down) some yummy sandwiches and snacks.

Oh yeah, that’s me the bride alright! Errr…yea, not the most flattering picture, but the only one I have of some of us during lunch!

As soon as we finished grubbing, it was time to get dressed! The maids got dressed first…

And then it was my turn! There she is, y’all, my lovely dress. I can’t believe I get to wear it finally!

z164110

OK, so in the spirit of full disclosure, I thought I just had to post up this picture…Oh yes, check out that SPANX action!!!

My friend helping me tie the perfect bow…

Getting all accessorized…

Mommy Daffodil helping me get all straightened out…

z16411001

Some finishing touches on my makeup…

z16411002

Slipping on my shoes…

z164111

And we’re all just about ready now! A moment shared with my two sisters and maidens of honor…

z16411101

Aww, look at how pretty all my girls are!

z164112

Now that we were truly all dressed up, my lovely ladies and I headed outside for some group shots!

z16411201

Watch out for the veil! I think this candid turned out to be kind of a cool photo, with my veil catching the breeze. Too bad both me and Sister Daffodil have some really weird expressions on our faces.

z16411202

So, getting good group shots is truly an art. I’ll be sure to post up the real (aka post-processed) group photos when we get those back, but I thought I would show you a behind-the-scenes one just for fun. To help us look somewhat natural, our photographer told us to look off into the distance and laugh. I thought it was pretty hilarious how Sister Daffodil, well, took that a bit literally…

z16411203

Man, I love these girls smiley1025. They have all been there for me throughout various experiences and formative times in my life. I can’t tell you how amazing it felt to have all of them with me at the same time.

z16411204

A shot with Mommy and Daddy…

z164113

z16411301

And then it was back to the dressing room, for one final mirror check before I see Mr. D for the very first time. smiley1025

Next up, we’ll take a look at what the guys have been up to all this time…

All photos (with the exception of the second and third photo) are taken by Scott Robert and Esther Lee of Scott Robert Photography. And believe it or not, these are all raw images (before any editing!). Please be sure to credit Scott Robert Photography if any photos are reposted.

I love that veil shot. I think you look like an old Asian princess or something. Well not an OLD princess but a princess from OLDEN times. There, that sounds a lot better :)

those are beautiful, and you looked absolutely gorgeous. It’s nice to see that even skinny girls wear spanx for bridal perfection! I can’t wait to see more pics from your wedding.

you look STUNNING!!
and the full-disclosure SPANX shot was totally a *ding* lightbulb moment for me…I was worried about the seam line showing through my dress, but like you, I’ll be having a sash too. It will do double duty as an accessory and as SPANX camouflage!

Also, where did you get that gorgeous necklace?? That is exactly what I’m looking for.

awww thanks yall, you guys are too sweet! and @Kellbell, thx for the compliment by calling me skinny! i had actually given up on my pre-wedding diet b/c of all the stress so it’s flattering to hear! ;-)

@wintersprincess: @jen: @nrm41: hey girls! i got my necklace (and earrings and hairpieces as well) all from Haute Bride in SF. They have a great collection of jewelry online, but even more in their store, and they do custom orders too! I’m doing a post on the full getup with more details in a few days, but basically, they are not the cheapest but they were the only ones that had anything close to exactly what I wanted! :-)

@zoe: colorrifics! it’s the “desire” shoe i think…same as mrs. snow pea’s! :-)
