About Mrs. Shortcake

(check out more of starheadboy’s images here)

Mr. Shortcake works out everyday, lifting heavier weights than me, all in pursuit of a Schwarzenegger-esque bod. However, as muscle-ripply as this makes him, it also makes it very difficult for him to find clothes that fit him. It also made shopping for a tuxedo that much harder! If your groom is in such a predicament as well, check out this uber-helpful guide I stumbled across at Cocktails & Details!

If your groom has a different-than-average body shape, how is he finding ways to dress himself for the wedding?

My guy has this same problem! You would think they would make more close for guys that have body types like theirs. He has a horribly time finding shirts because they are too tight over his shoulders, biceps, and around his neck. Also, with pants his waist is small & thighs are too big!
His suit, of course, is tailored. I believe his suit is from S&K and it’s a sportsman-wear style.
So, does anyone have recommendations for where these muscle-ripply men can shop for everyday clothes?

I don’t know about everyday clothes - mostly because I’m not sure what you mean by everyday clothes. DH wears a dress shirt and a tie to work every day - we have them made-to-measure, or buy fitted, from Nordstrom. He has his best luck with suits through Nordstrom or Neiman’s - the Italian made suits tend to come in a more athletic cut - that provides a smaller waist as compared to the shoulders. His suit for the wedding was Hugo Boss, which also makes an athletic cut. Any normal suit jacket that fits him in the shoulders is so big in the waist that he looks like a little boy wearing his dad’s clothes!

we had this problem as well although he does not work out a lot. he is 6′3″ with a thin frame and broad shoulders.

if it fits vertically it’s too baggy and vice versa!

we finally found a suit for him. a “European cut”

Mr. D goes to the gym more than anyone should be allowed….he’s not a big and bulky muscle man, but he does have a trim waist, so he usually ends up getting pants specially made. Probably will do the same for our wedding.
