Hello Hive!

I am thrilled and honored to join the hive!

I am a color and materials designer (freshly laid off, thanks to the auto industry), who is crazy about sewing, cooking, dancing, and making anything I can dream up. So far, planning our wedding is a lot like designing a car and seeing it into production. Researching design inspiration, choosing vendors, working with budgets, creating deadlines… all in all, a lot of work! The wedding itself, like a car, is made up of what seems like a million parts and comes together with the help of many, many people. I can’t wait until we get to the day of production!

As far as my icon, taffy was an obvious choice for me. I love anything sweet, especially candy, ice cream and sugary cereal (much to Mr. Taffy’s dismay). He had never even heard of Cookie Crisp or Cocoa Puffs until we started dating!

I thoroughly enjoy reading all of your posts, and am very excited to share my wedding planning projects, hopes and DIY accomplishments with you! Thank you so much for having me.

Welcome Miss Taffy! I have a ton of family in Michigan– can’t wait to see what you’ve planned! Also, I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been laid off. I know the economy is really tough there these days.

I am impressed how you compare the wedding preparation to the car productions. That does make sense. All I have done since we set the date 6 months from now was started having migraine headaches 1-2 times a week for the last 7-8 weeks. I will not survive at this rate until March.
