Hibernating Bride

September 15th, 2008 @ 1:42 pm by Mrs. Hydrangea

Last weekend, after spending the whole rainy day (thanks Ike) running wedding errands with Mom H, I came home ready to hang out on the couch and watch some sports with Mr. H. What actually happened was much different.

I fixed myself a plate of leftovers and headed to our room to take a nap at 6PM. I didn’t wake up until 8AM the next morning. Talk about needing some sleep! All of the wedding projects that we had waiting on our table for us to do were still there come Sunday morning. I knew that the week had left me tired and drained, but I didn’t realize I would end up sleeping for FOURTEEN hours!

While Mr. H was a little sad that we didn’t get to hang out Saturday night, I think that letting myself sleep that much was much needed, and left me with a lot more energy to face the few projects that we have left.

Have any of you needed to take a break and rest in the last few weeks leading up to your wedding?

Oh, Miss H, as a fellow 9.27 bride, I’m finding so much solice in your posts these days because so much of what you say is exactly what I’m going through. This weekend I spent nearly all of Saturday sleeping on the couch. Part of me felt guilty about not looking at my to do list all day, but I needed the rest, and it felt SO good. Sunday morning came, and it was back to the grindstone for this girl!

Ha ha, Ike put me to sleep too! I’m from East Texas and the pounding rain made me unable to do anything except cuddle and snooze! Glad you got some good Zzz’s too.

My fiance said I slept through Ike like a hibernating bear. Thanks, sweetie! I teach in Houston ISD and we have the rest of the week off. This is like wedding spring break for me. I’m not getting married til June, but I need it!
