Mrs. Tiramisu's Picture
Mrs. Tiramisu, Annapolis, MD/Maine Age and Occupation: 26, Eye Doctor Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Project Manager/Real Estate Management grad student Engagement Date: May 15, 2007 Wedding Date: July, 2008 Blogging Since: March 4, 2008 Venue: Oceanfront lawn and tent About Me: I was born and raised in Maine, now living in Annapolis, Maryland and planning a hometown wedding from afar. I’m nothing short of obsessed with wedding planning, and am loving the do-it-yourself madness that has now taken over my life! As for me, I’m a craft-loving, martini-drinking, girly-girl who loves traveling, photography, my schnauzer, and above all, spending time with Mr. Tiramisu.
About Mrs. Tiramisu

Here come the details!

All photos (unless noted) are by Samantha Warren Weddings. Sam deserves HUGE praise for capturing all of these shots. She’s been a loyal reader of my blog (even before I became a bee!) and so she knew how important all of the little things were to me. Thanks, Sam!

Are you starting to get tired of all the planning nonsense? Do you want to throw in the towel on your pain-in-the-butt projects? Don’t! You have this feeling to look forward to when you see all of your hard work in action—it’s worth it!

Sam put together this collage of the details of our day:

I was beyond excited that my ideas for the tables came out just as (okay maybe even better than) I had pictured them:

Our table numbers got rave reviews:

Here is our sweetheart table, complete with heart-shaped rocks gathered from the beach. I still have no idea who found them and put them there, but I suspect our sweet photographer, Sam.

Menus were a last minute project that I didn’t have time to blog about before the wedding:

The monogram (it’s blurred out here) was designed by Creative Montage.

Here is one of our cocktail tables—we had some up on the porch, as well as scattered on the lawn, and a few of the blue votive candles were added to these as well:

Just a few of our 130 paper lanterns, lovingly strung up by my family!

And a few more…

To come: flip flop favors, signature drinks, our wish bowl, and the cake!

just lovely. classy but casual seaside at the same time — i don’t know how you did it! did you find aimee (creative montage) from my posts about her? your menu looks like mine except for your CM monogram on top! didn’t the monogram just add a touch of professional class to the project?! the table numbers came out so well, and those lanterns….wow!

I used Aimee as well. She is amazing! I think I found her from one of your posts and the monograms have been included on invitations already and will be on programs, menus, and place cards.

Beautiful!

P.S. I’m just being anal here but a monogram is 1 to 3 letter initials. Something with full names and last names is a signature.

I love all of your projects that you have accomplished! You have been so inspiring (especially since I am a fellow something blue color scheme) and I am somewhat ashamed to admit that I will be poaching some of your ideas for my own wedding this October!! Thanks so much for the inspiration & creativity!!!

ooooooooooooh! so pretty, but how did you seat people? did they get to pick their own seats or were they assigned and I just didn’t see the place cards?

how does that work when there are only a few random seats left, and none together? I just came back from a wedding where there wasn’t enough seating (lots of last min. RSVPs) and they had extra coctail tables that ended up full of us, the HS friends.

The colors are so fresh and clean feeling! Every detail really came together! One question, what size lanterns did you use? I have been going back and forth about them and have had a hard time figuring out what size/quantity to do.

Thank you guys, all of you! I am so happy the hive approves :)

@lizzyh113: I found the best prices at http://www.paperlanternstore.com (and email them if you’re ordering a lot, because I did and they gave me free shipping). I ended up just letting my DOC have them all at the end of the night because she had done so much for us!

@grace: I used photoshop to add numbers to our engagement photos and then just attached the photos to cardstock. We got the little stands from our rental company, but you should be able to find them for sale as well- maybe try a restaurant supply type of place?

@violarulz: We just assigned tables, not seats (our escort cards are in my next post!). We sat mostly couples at the square tables (each sat 8) and that was easy as they sat in pairs around the table. The long tables (each sat 16) were for our friends and cousins, mostly singles. I don’t think that there were any problems with people not able to sit together, but I did worry about that at first. I’ve been to a bunch of weddings where it was done that way and haven’t seen it be a problem though.

@Jenae: We used mostly 14″ lanterns, but there were a few other sizes in there (mostly smaller) too as we rented 30 lanterns from our DOC. It’s hard to figure out how many you need- I say get as many as you can because they tend to sort of disappear even when you think you have a lot!

Hey,
Am new to the weddingbee site and live in Montreal. Your wedding pictures are stunning and wanted some info ++ as my boyfriend and I are planning our wedding in Kennebunkport Maine for Fall 2010…We need to get a head start on things as we’re planning it from montreal.
We are looking to having an outdoor tent wedding on the beach but there are so many tent and catering companies that I don’t even know where to begin! Hopefully you can point me in the right direction….
many thanks!

I LOVE your blue sea glass around your centerpieces. I am looking to find glass like this. Where did you get it? Also did you keep it? Are you willing to sell it to me?
Thanks!
