I Do Bridal here in Vancouver (well, actually White Rock) had their amazing annual sample sale this past weekend:

As soon as I heard about it, I emailed my friend K who is getting married October 6th in Vegas. Although it was only three weeks ’til her wedding, she still hadn’t found the perfect pair of shoes to go with her amazing dress. Finding the perfect shoes is tough, yo!
The sale started Saturday and I heard that the first person was lined up at 6AM (the doors didn’t open until 10AM)! I’m actually glad I didn’t know it was such a huge sale, otherwise we might have thought it wasn’t worth going on Sunday at all. K was in Toronto for her stagette party, and didn’t come back until Sunday morning, so I planned to pick her up at the airport and head directly to the sale.
Boy, are we glad we went! She actually found the exact shoe she was looking for—a closed toe, 3.25″ heel, perfectly elegant shoe… and it was on sale!
(By the way, the ladies at I Do Bridal are beyond fabulous. If you’re a Vancouver gal and haven’t been there yet, go! They really make you feel like a blissful bride.)
As for me, I went sort of hoping to find a veil but wasn’t at all surprised when I heard that all the birdcage veils were gone within the first 30 minutes of the sale on Saturday. I definitely hadn’t planned on looking at shoes since I already have mine, but when we got there, my eyes immediately zeroed in on a perfectly delectable pair of Kate Spades. They were the last pair, and happened to be in my size. What can I say? They were too beautiful to pass up.

Now here’s the part where you hate me. Their regular price was $350.
But the Sea Breeze price…

$25.
If they look familiar, that’s because they are. They’re the same shoes that Mrs. Strawberry wore on her wedding day. (Here’s a shot of them with her dress on her wedding day. Soooo beautiful!)
Mr. Breezy and I have been invited to a spectacular wedding in Montreal that will take place in the beginning of November, so I think that these will be the perfect shoes for me to wear. The only thing is, they seem a to bit ‘bridal’ in cream, no? I’m thinking of dying them black, or maybe chocolate brown. Someone suggested crimson, but since they’re already pretty unusual, I’m worried that crimson might be a bit over the top.
I don’t have a dress yet, but I’ll worry about that after I decide on what color the shoes will be. Can you tell I love shoes, or what?
So, what do you think? What color should I dye my non-bridal shoes?
